Should we buy the freehold?

I know little about this so just throwing an idea around but could the leaseholders form a LTD company to buy the freehold. That way the owners of the flats do not directly own the freehold but rather a share in the company that does? This LTD company could also hire a management company to deal with the charges. -
Don't get their backs up with comments you can do without. Keep it short and sweet. I broke down, here is proof. Job done.

Personally I would do the SAR first before telling them my intentions in case they 'lose' any paperwork. -
£300-£500 but it's only a small photo you put on so that's a rough estimate. I'm a member of a private forum for the cleaning industry with loads of guys on it that do this type of work, professional guys who will invoice you correctly so you can pass the cost to Kwik Fit. I'm sure someone will be local to you.

Jet washing, driveway cleaning etc. Professional guys, I could find you some reputable companies in your area if you want them to take a look and get an idea of the cost. Not pikeys!

You can remove oil from driveways with the right kit but the longer you leave it the harder it will be to get it completely gone. Where are you based? I have contacts in the industry. And I would say they are blatantly responsible for this cock up.

Landlord Spot Check

Write back a polite letter stating you are away and would prefer to be there to do the check and you are happy to arrange a meeting when you return. Then change the locks so they cannot use their keys. As long as you fit the original locks on the door when you move out there is little they can do. The first thing I do when moving in to a property is change the locks. You don't know who has a key. Landlords always moan but that's all they do. It's tuff. -
You might want to sit down. Legally the car belongs to the finance company and they can and will be looking to take it back. Your options would be to get your swapped car back and give this other person back that car or when the finance company contact you, and they will, you can tell them what has happened and see if they will offer you a settlement to buy the car from them Sadly whatever happens will end with you losing the car or paying to keep it.

A credit card is the safest way of making purchases in this day and age. Everybody should have one who wants maximum protection. You don't have to spend more that you have and you wont get into debt if you are responsible. I buy everything on a credit card and pay the balance off each month.

In my opinion, lost it or took it without your consent, either way he would have known he had it without your knowledge and could be seen as theft. If it were me I would be straight with them, put my hands up and say sorry I did it but I have learned an important lesson and it wont happen again. If you try and cloud the whole thing with wishy washy excuses you might get their backs up.

Write to them outlining what happened (yes I know your repeating yourself) and what you want doing to get it resolved. Send it recorded and head it letter before action. If they ignore it sue them in court for the cost of getting it repaired. Parking at your own risk is fine for things they cannot control such as theft, vandalism etc but their barrier hit your car. They can control that therefore they are responsible. Go get them! -

Currys have always been sneaky, using every stall or trick in the book to get out of refunding. That's why I, and many others never buy from there. Tell your friends not to shop there. One day they will run out of people. -
Yes a judge would see. Put that offer in writing to them so they cannot deny it.

Don't be afraid of them if they do turn up, they are powerless. Don't open the door and tell them you are calling the police. They will likely tell you they are calling the police, or say good call them or some other nonsense about you stealing their stuff but this is all a bluff. Tell them you are calling if they do not leave and if they do not, then do it. Call 101 and tell them the van/car registration, that you are feeling threatened at your door, you have 4 children etc etc. Film everything on your phone for evidence for the police and later to upload to YouTube to share how these crooks work. I must also say that selling the stuff was a bit silly but what is done is done. It does not give them the right to come to your door and harass.

I'm with you Maxx, I don't believe a word of this but that is just my opinion and I'm not here to judge. That little fact aside, I would be contacting Currys, in writing then the finance company to get a replacement. -

I brought some boots from Shoe Zone once, they were rubbish, I've never been back and my money is spent elsewhere. You just have to look at my local branch to see you are getting what you pay for and that's very little. However, SOGA applies and their 28 day warranty is not worth the paper it's written on. They are responsible and should repair or replace, failing that refund. It's the law!

The letter is designed to get a response. Some people here would suggest you send some template letter the company will just ignore, I would just ignore it and do nothing. If they do turn up tell them to do one. It's as simple as that.
