  1. Make a claim to the DVLA and include a copy of the Post Office receipt. The database not being updated isn't your problem. If they deny any liability, then send them a letter before action and give them 7 days to refund.
  2. I'm not so sure about that. If you bought 4 laptops but were only supplied with 3, you would expect a refund for the one not supplied. Surely the same applies here. Four days were paid for but 'they' changed it to three so quite rightly the op is expecting to be reimbursed for the day not supplied.
  3. If it's a business they can exclude most thing in the sales contract that would protect a consumer, but you can still claim damages for breach of contract.
  4. The subject heading is Is it fraud ? and as answered before, yes. Which is the same answer you gave
  5. Of course it's fraud, you intentionally misled in order to make a gain. We get quite a lot of threads about 'irresponsible lending', this is 'irresponsible borrowing'.
  6. So he is a trader. In that case, you reject the car for a full refund to be with you in 48 hours or you will take further action. Court action isn't very dear and you would claim that back plus any other expenses this has cost you. The Consumer Forums: The Consumer Rights Act 2015 Do it in writing, email is fine and back it up by sending it signed for. DVSA, like Trading Standards, don't take someone to court on your behalf, they will do their own prosecution, so contact them again and ask if that are intending to take any action against the trader.
  7. The rail watchdog is launching an investigation into “rip off” rail machines after a Telegraph investigation revealed that passengers are routinely being denied the cheapest fares. Joanna Whittington, chief executive of the Office of Rail and Road, said that research suggests one in 20*passengers were being sold rail tickets by machines that are too expensive. This means the millions of rail passengers could be potentially be paying the wrong*train*fares for journeys. An investigation by the Telegraph in 2014 found that customers were forced to pay double the required fare*as a result of machines promoting the most expensive tickets and “burying” the cheapest options. 8. No, they have not adhered to their own contract. You can do a chargeback on the debit card for the deposit.
  9. Do you have anything that can shows it was like this at the time of purchase, did you get any paperwork when it was booked in for repairs/rectification ? Will you name the dealer please ? That's complete bull and a very stupid thing for any dealer to say. If that was the case the car would never be sold in this country and would have a warning notice saying only for use in countries where it never rains.
  10. Thread cleaned of off topic posts.
  11. Young woman driver's £11,500 car insurance quote almost six times value of her car A young driver was horrified when her car insurance quote was a massive £11,500 a year - nearly six times the value of her car. Naomi Bowler was stunned to be told the premium on her £1,700 Peugeot 206 would be £1107.72 a month - with a deposit of £1,923.66 - but Aviva have defended the quote. The 19-year-old used to be insured at a cost of £96 a month using black box to monitor her driving. However when Naomi, who has no claims and says she parks her car outside her home in a pleasant area, applied for insurance with Aviva after being recommended by a family friend, she was stunned to receive a five figure quote of £11,542. 'If I was going to do that I may as well just buy a new car every week - I could afford to write off a car each week. MSN

So the rest of the world doesn't matter to Microsoft, as long as we keep buying their products and making them rich they couldn't give a toss.
  14. Unless you paid over the counter by cash, there will be a record somewhere.
  15. Car sales like this are done all the time, they are move around from sales pitch to sales pitch until someone buy it. This car could have already been sold and they are looking for another to match. As the promised date of delivery is long past, they are the ones who have broken the contract, not you. You should tell them that if they don't refund your deposit in full, you will take further action which could include damages. What type of card was it, Debit or Credit ?
  16. Have you got any further with this hugo1963 ??
  17. Would love to be kept up to date with this Robbo777 ??
  18. You can do it verbally, but if by phone, do it on a mobile and then you can record it or you can do it by email.
  19. You can give them say Tuesdays date and make that time of the essence, annotated that non delivery by then will end the contract. You don't say any deposit has been paid, so no one has lost anything.
  20. I've removed your last line Robbo, if there is any info that would be useful to anyone else, we would rather it was posted on here for all to read.
