  1. Please excuse the long delay, I had to get a scanner and learn how to use it. It's not as good as others I have seen on here but I hope it's good enough to get the required info from. There is another sheet but that only has the 'Conditions' on it. I have heard nothing from anyone concerning this since I received the original bank statements from NatWest.
  2. They have sent statements from the day the account was opened until it was closed some statements of payments (but not complete) and a copy of the agreement which is not dated or signed by either me or them. There is obviously a lot to go through.
  3. An update - I have received the paperwork so will now have a good look and see what it's all about.
  4. Thanks Dave. I will let it run the full term, afterall it's been a long time so a couple of more weeks wont make much difference.
  5. So I should make contact directly with Natwest now and not wait to see what comes out of my request.
  6. Good evening again, My CCA request was signed for on the 16th Mar by the DCA. I was informed that payments were suspended and they were sending it back to the Natwest who would respond. Today is the 16th Apr and I have heard nothing from anyone. Is this normal, do I wait until 40 days to hear from Natwest?? A little yes or no would reassure me that I am doing this correctly.
  7. gg do you have a debit card? if so go here Plymouth City Council - Online Payments and make your payment online. This wont refuse payment so you have forced them to accept your payments. You should, of course, carry on with the advice already given.
  8. Just a quick update. To date I have heard nothing from anyone.
  9. I have just been reading through different cases etc and saw the following: Would that apply to me as well even though the account closed around 1993, and does this work for business accounts as well as private accounts?
  10. If the above is how it happened and the bailiff deliberately tried to deceive, isn't there a case for compensation?
  11. I think it's more a case of 'don't care' not don't know. Councils are just not interested in the ability to pay or not, they just up the taxes every year and to hell with everyone.
  12. So what they are saying is that a brand new car which of course has brand new tensioner pullies sounds like yours when it leaves the showroom and for the first 1000mls - yeh right. Ask him why you have never heard this on any other car on the road.
  13. Hi again. I have received a reply from MDR thanking me for my request and saying they have forwarded it to Natwest along with the £1 payment and that they (Natwest) will provide the relevant information as quick as possible.
  14. Just a quick update. My letter was signed for yesterday after a delay of 9 days. I was begining to think the post office had lost it.
  15. Before I retired, I owned and ran a small garage. I was very proud of my workmanship and more than 90% of my customers were 'recommends'. One particular customer I remember had a problem with her rear brakes on her Fiesta. I replaced both leaking hydraulic cylinders and the brake shoes and charged her £103. The very next day while in town her exhaust developed a blow and she called into a well known national free fit garage for a replacement. She came back to me directly from leaving the said garage saying they would not let her take her car from their premises as the brakes were 'dangerous' even though she said they were fine. They charged her £200 for replacement parts and labour, and showed me the bill she had paid. I examined her brakes and nothing had been done, (I always marked all the parts I fitted for later identification), and nothing had been changed or replaced. I visited the free fit in question and challenged them directly and the manager admitted that they had in fact 'not' replaced any parts or done any work to her brakes. She was refunded and I was paid compensation. I did name the free fit above, but can't find the paperwork for it now so have deleted them, I do remember there was a lot of articles about them in the national press later for claiming and charging for work done when nothing was. I will look for that paperwork (have to keep it for 10 years) and if I find it, I will come back and name them.
  16. I wasn't suggesting otherwise, but just making a point about the 'non value for money' of the BG service.
  17. B&Q sells combi boilers for less than £500
  18. For the premium of £16 per month you could get a brand new boiler every other year, and as it is covered during the first year by the manufacturer, that only leaves one year at risk. If it hasn't broken during the first year then it is highly unlikely that it will during it's second.
  19. Thank you so much for nursemaiding me Dave - you need it when you get to my age.
  20. I have done my letter and will post tomorrow with a postal order unless you tell me differently. Dear Sir/Madam Re:− Account National Westminster Bank With reference to the above, I would be grateful if you would send me a copy of this agreement. I require a full statement of payments & balances, and a deed of assignment I understand that under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79), I am entitled to receive a copy of my agreement on request. I enclose a payment of £1.00 which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act. I understand a copy of my agreement should be supplied within 12 working days. I also understand that under the Consumer Credit Act creditors are unable to enforce an agreement if they fail to comply with a request for a copy of the agreement under these sections of the Act. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully
  21. Thank you so much Dave - I have been paying £25 and never missed.
  22. I must first admit that my memory is not that good after a stroke so please bare with me. In 1993 my bank account with NW was closed without warning because I owed them on an overdraft. I think that overdraft was around £2-3000. I have been paying a dca since then, but think I must have paid it by now. Do I ask the bank for details of the overdraft and who they either asked to collect or sold it to, and do I also send the dca a 'sar' request and ask them for a deed of assignment? I have been reading on here for 3 days now and some of it is going past me as I can't remember what one thread said when I start reading another. I thank you for any assistance.
