  1. I posted this in Debt Collectors by mistake, but thought, why delete it, let them have some happy news as well. This is that same post: I thought this may cheer a few people up. They aren't as clever as they think: this is plymouth - news, entertainment, jobs, homes and cars Enjoy the short read.
  2. Oops - I posted in the wrong one, was supposed to be in baliffs, still we can all enjoy it.

  4. I think you cannot profit from an error such as this and will have to pay it back. However, they cannot insist in recovery all in one lump sum. If you are liable for income tax and it was deducted, make sure they don't fail to adjust that as well.
  5. What diagnostic checks and by who?? If they did them then ask to see the equipment they used. If another garage did the checks for them then there will be a bill from the other garage, ask to see those.
  6. Overdrafts shouldn't be treated as 'general funds' to be used regularly but as 'emergency funds' ie car breaking down on the motorway and no AA or RAC cover. If you look at your account, you will see that you are being charged for the facility even if you don't use it. That is money from your pay that could be used elsewhere. Open another account even if it does not give you an overdraft facility, pay off your present overdraft and then claim back the excess charges. If they do close your account, they will do you a favour and you will realise just how little you needed that overdraft facility and how much extra spending money you have each month.
  7. Yes they can and probably will. It would be dishonest of you to use a phone that has been deemed to have been cut off and hope to avoid a bill for doing so.
  8. I think your admitting here that you haven't the willpower to resist an online flutter. If they do close your account, and it only takes moments to set up, can you honestly say you wont sign up again in the future?
  9. Oh Eileen!. Their official title is probably something like 'financial adviser' or 'finance officer' so you will have upset her by calling her a telephonist if she reads this.
  10. I would think the full frontal camera would come under the same legislation as the ones in toilets and changing rooms, they are intrusive and can film you in a private acts. If one of these films contained images of a woman scratching her breast for instance either down her dress or through an opened blouse, then that is an invasion of privacy.
  11. One way to show your disapproval is to print up some notices and pin them to your general boards asking if anyone is 'interested in joining a union'. There need be no mention of cameras or any other subject, but the management will see the notices and put two and two together. It worked in my sons place of employment so may work in yours. If not then contact a union and ask for their assistance in setting up a union. Union officials cannot be barred from workplaces where they have members. They also have access to good lawyers as well.
  12. Theres no need for that attitude or name calling. If cigarette ends were the main cause of litter and seeing as they have been in use since Sir Walter Raleigh then the world would be 50 feet deep in them. No one has said smokers should be exempt from anything, or hinted that way.
  13. I was going to tell the truth like you but bottled out.
  14. As above - They are crossed so they can only be credited to a bank account. This guards the sender as only the person it was sent to can deposit it.
  15. There is no need to purchase security software. There are free Firewalls and Anti-virus programs available, some of it better than Norton. Google 'AVG' and 'Zonealarm' Also download Spybot search and destroy and Ad-Aware to keep you clean.
  16. No the offence hasn't been committed. A little while ago an elderly lady was actually taken to court for throwing down litter, (bread for birds). The judge asked for evidence of the litter and they told him the birds has eaten it. He was not too impressed at the time that had been waisted and said it should have never been brought to court. He dismissed it. Mitigating circumstances might be that you were only 'extinguishing' it and had no intention to leave it and therefore cause litter.
  17. That is a very sensible and well composed post Phantom and worthy of a click on your scales.
  18. Deleted as not appropriate after reading your thread. It's very confusing when people have multiple threads about the same subject.
  19. Yes it's worth continuing as your claim will be held by the bank until this is settled and if they loose you will be first in the que.
  20. I am the same as you Sproot, even when I do see one that is explained or spelt out fully, I forget it next time I see it. The S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) automatically expands inside brackets when you enter your post, perhaps they could do that with other abbreviations. I started writing them down on a pad when I saw one expanded.
  21. You should have picked up your dog end and put it into your pocket or a bin and then said "where is the evidence". It's only litter if you leave it behind, after all, they don't fine you for putting your shopping bags down, but I suppose they could if you left them.
  22. Going down another route, if the banks loose and they introduce account charges will employers still be able to insist on wages payments into bank accounts? If this is the case then I am being forced to pay the bank money for nothing. Surely I am entitled to my full wages and they will have to come up with another way to pay people their wages.
  23. All parts are still available via Express factors, Unipart and the Rover dealerships that still exist. There is no shortage of parts and the car you are interested in is not Chinese made if you are thinking of a second hand one. If it's the V6 with the Honda engine I am very envious.
