...what would they be?

And you CAN'T wish for more wishes. :p

My first would be financial security and happiness for my family.

My second would be WORLD PEACE. (groan, I know)

My third would be for renewable energy sources to immediately become sole providers of all the energy we use.

Think carefully cos mine are a bit crappy

1. If I saw a book that I liked, regardless of where it was or who it belonged to, the owner/proprietor would have to give it to me for free

2. A house in the sticks with a garden

3. See (1), but substitute 'book' for animal

1 i would wish that my family maintained there health and we all grow old happily together

2 i would wish that my family could stick together and always be there for each other

3 i would wish that no matter what becomes of this world, and no matter how bad this country we live in becomes, that one day, we could reclaim it for ourselves and put ourselves first, instead of trying to right the wrongs of the world and dragging everyone down at the same time.

1 - Good health and fair but not excessive wealth for my family

2 - That the world was a place where power was used fairly, not as a weapon.

3 - That the mother in law wasn't so bloody ugly!!

This brings to mind a story Mrs Lex came home with :-

A junior negotiator, a senior negotiator and the office manager are appraising a building site. The junior neg spots something shining in the rubble, picks it up and it's an old silver lamp. Being young, naive and hopeful she gives it a quick rub & out pops a Genie! 'Thank you for releasing me - I will now grant you three wishes. The senior neg decides it's only fair to have one wish each, not wanting the junior to have all the glory. The Junior neg says that she would like a 4 week holiday in Barbados and all the money she can spend - whoosh! She's vanished. The senior neg is very impressed and decides to chance his arm, he requests a bank balance of 3 million and to be on his own island in the Seychelles - whoosh! He's vanished too. The Genie then turns to the office manager and says 'What is your wish?' The office manager says 'I want those two back in the office by 8.30am sharp, tomorrow!'

I just wish that people could spell the word 'lose' properly, instead of 'loose'.

(It get's my goat up that one!)

'Where' is a place or location, or question: "Where am I? Where has he gone?"

'Were' is something that has happened, or happened in the past: "The girls were there, but now they've gone; were you around at that time?"

'We're' is simply a shortening of 'we are': "We're going down the pub, fancy coming along? We're not needed at work today."

So:

A - "Where did they go?"

B - "Oh, they were there before..."

A - "Come on; we're going to find them."

Similarly, 'chose' and 'choose'...although, davey, there's no apostrophe in 'gets' ;)
