I thought I would ask this here as it is not really specific to a claim.

Is it best to wait the 14 days between the first approach and the LBA or proceed as soon as a reply is recieved? I can understand waiting before starting a money claim. But what about between the first and second letters if quick reply is a refusal.

andyace,

Wait the 14 days, send your next letter on the 15th day. Thay way they have had 28 days in which to reply to your claim prior to legal action being started.

In addition, waiting the full 14 days will show your desire and willingness to be reasonable.

Earns brownie points if it goes to court.

Good luck with your claim.

Thanks for that I thought it best to wait. What are the chances of them changing their minds before the 14 days are up?

Answers on a postcard;recorded delivery of course.
