Yes they have [edit].

To my point of view it did show front line staff in a bad point, I personaly have a friend who resigned from Barclaycard as she could,nt meet her targets, as she morraly could not mis - sell. She eventually had her home repossed as she found it difficult getting a job with ref,s that B/C gave her. Long story won.t go into it.

I personally now am as mad as hell, at the sheer distruction of indivduals lives this has affected my own included.

Further more (I am on a roll Now) if as CAG members we can make a difference with Banks etc. ARE WE STRONG ENOUGH TO HAVE SOME POLICTICAL CLOUT ON OTHER ISSUES, FOR A SEPERATE FORUM. I AM SURE WE MUST HAVE ENOUGH EXPERTISE AMONG US.

Sorry for the rant , but, found it particularly distasteful that John Prescott nodded off in HOC during GB Budget fiasco.

It,s the fat cats I want

Ive got my court case with Barclays this Friday, pity its too late to submit the programme in my court bundle.

I wouldn't worry to much. I think Barclays will be even more eager than normal NOT to see the inside of a court room anytime soon. Just imagine if the Judge saw the programme and then Barclays stand up and say yes our charges are fair and reflect our true costs.

((cheesenpickle)) been there too. Go for it!

I love my kid. She watched the Whistleblower prog with me (oops bit of a late night but for a good cause eh), asked me how many noughts were in billions, and we fiddled with her calculator a bit and worked out that ..

Barclays billions of profit is about 120 times what Comic Relief raised on Friday

  make you think

Worried about banking charges and claiming the difference. (Wrong thread I know)

Has been guesstimated that OFT rule £12.00. ERR Why when it costs bank between £1.50 and £2.00.

Of course they are all the same. It would be naive to assume that all other banks are not doing exactly the same. They are money [EDIT], who only care about lining their own pockets. Barclays have so far been the only one exposed. How long do you think it will be before the rest are? The sooner the better.

Someone who had a friend working at Barclays till a year ago has commented that all the company cares about is it's bottom line. The pressure was so immense to sell, sell, sell that all else became secondary.

Wonder what the OFT would make of this evenings programme?

love it

i hope that they get loads of complaints to the FSA, loads of fines, and get investigated and their license to sell taken off them.

All thats need now is for the FSA to be inundated with complanints about the banks.

I will be doing mine tommorow, Looks like Barclays havent read the FSA's principles for a long time. i work in financial services and was frankly shocked with their selling tactics. The company i work for would fire you for acting in the manner that they did.

and the charges £1.50 haha i think they will pay up quicker now, not just barclays either hehe good news for us

The Additions Account charges was the worst thing - until the manager confirmed that average charges only come to £1-50 or £2.50.

But didn't I see the sum of £0.09 pence sitting on the bottom of The Whistleblower's Excel screen? I would guess that is nearer the true cost, which is why the Banks are refunding our claims in full rather than just the difference between £35 and £2.50

What got me was the call centre staff looking up peoples accounts for the fun of it and how easy it seems to be for money to be moved from accounts without customers knowledge! Very frightening.

Methinks the old money under the mattress not such a bad idea afterall lol

What really angered me about the programme tonight - apart from the woman trying to sell the pensioner insurance - was when the girl in the call centre said as soon as she hears a Liverpool accent she automatically thinks that they are in debt, that made my blood boil, me being a scouser

Did anyone see the BBC prog on Barclays Bank? 21 March 2007

They singled out Barclays but you can imagine it could have been any of the high Street banks

There are 10 kinds of people in the world:

Those who understand binary and those who don't.
