Thanks guys. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

If it were bog-standard HTML rather than an editor (in the admin section of the forum software), I'd have got it ages ago ;-)

In fact, if you just hold the CTRL key down and scroll up or down on the mouse wheel, it does the same thing. (FF only).

I can't stand using laptops. Keys are all over the place - I usually type at just under 80 wpm, and on a laptop I'm forever going back to replace letters that I didn't mean to type because they're IN THE WRONG BLOODY PLACES!!!

I beg to differ, they are where they always are and should be...right in front of me...however, playing Age Of Empires II on a laptop is nigh on impossible...

If the left panel is here to stay, wouldn't it be good to have links to FAQs and libraries there? I know they're all on portal page, but once you're deep in the forum, it would be handy to have them visible, it's just someone new commented they found the site hard to follow...

just a thought...

When you are next re-jigging, I am loathe to suggest more work for you as I know how long the last one took, any chance of putting a copy of the new posts button at the bottom of each thread.

When I am browsing I tend to read a thread and then go directly to new posts. I normally hit the home button and then go to new posts. If you were to put a new posts button at the bottom it would save hitting the home button.

I've just read this and reallised that I am asking you to spend several hours work to save me a second or two. I'm a lazy sod. If you are doing another re-jig, and it takes seconds to do it would be great. If not feel free to pile loads of abuse on me.:D

It's strange, but since the layout changes, I can no longer click the smilies on the right hand side to insert them into a post - plus, it seems that I have to enter HTML line breaks to get line spacings right.. Plus, the Quick Links/Thread Tools/etc... bars no longer drop down - the Quick Links bar ends up along the top, replacing the User CP/FAQ/etc... and I haven't actually found where the Thread Tools one goes!

Weird!

Using the WYSIWYG editor and FF 1.5.0.3

Cheers

Michael

Nope - absolutely nothing changed here, I was online at the time of the changeover and noticed it starting going funny at that point. Realised you were doing some changes and thought little more about it until I realised it was staying with me :( (NB, it's all the formatting buttons too)

Am going to try clearing the cache and all that this morning, now I've got my tabs down to a manageable level.....

Cheers

Well, scrap that Dave - must've had a corrupted cookie or something in the cache was dodgy

Clearing both has resolved the problem

Cheers anyway

On the whole I find the site quite user friendly, but it would be useful to be able to see the thread I am replying to. Do I need to change some settings somewhere or could this facility be added sometime in the future?

I know you mods are all working hard so no pressure at all. Keep up the good work.
