Lloyds Tsb bad debted a loan account after I paid the agreed amount but refused to pay them over £300 for letters and penalties for non payment on the specified date although I asked them on several occasions to move the date. The loan agreement made no mention of any specific date.

I have since been contacted by debt collectors. Can I reclaim the money from Lloyds TSB to pay the debt collectors, or is there a better way?

You may think that but . . ......

That is the process - of course when you have the money you could then negotiate a reduced payment for settlement and make a profit on the deal....and it's legal! ;)

I too had problems with Lloyds TSB. I have had a company called Aktive Kapital (spelt correctly, scandinavian company, with UK branch).

Aktive Kapital claim to have purchased the debt, but despite my requests have failed to provide me with any evidence that the debt is now owned by them, other than letters saying that they do, not sufficient in my opinion.

I have copied all letter to Lloyds TSB Head Office and have heard didily squat from them. I have just written to Aktive Kapital telling them that I will not enter into any further correspondence with them until such time either they or Lloyds TSB are able to demonstrate to me that the debt has been purchased.

Aktive Kapital may be in for a little shock later if they do own the debt as alot of it is made up of charges which I am this week writing off to Lloyds TSB about.
