British Gas overpayment

I wonder if anyone can help. My sister rents out a small property and she paid a gas bill of nearly £400 that should have been paid by the previouse tenant. When she paid the bill she didnt realise this. She has written to British Gas asking for a refund and enclosed copies of the estate agent letters to say who was in the property and when but British Gas have not even bothered to reply to her. Any advise as what she should do next?

Hi, this sounds quite similar to a problem I've been having (although mine was for a much smaller amount). How long ago did your sister write to British Gas? And has she tried calling them to see if they've received the letter?

My problem was sorted out within days when I sent a complaint to Energywatch - there's a complaint form here energywatch: Home Page - and I shall be singing their praises to anyone who will listen for the forseeable future!
