A debt collector attended my address today he said he was calling on behalf of lantern so I shut the door on him.

He sat in his car and then posted the letter by hand.

The company is called Engage Services Ltd.

,  I recall this was a payday loan and pretty sure it is over 6 years old.

How do I deal with this company not sure how to write back to them.

  Please can you help.

Regards

Hello romania, welcome to CAG.

You did the right thing slamming the door! :)

Tell us the full details of this account:

when you took it out

who owns the debt (the letter likely states this)

amount owed

access and check your credit file for entries for this account

We will go from there.

No have not moved and have not touched a payday loan for over 6 years or more.  I will send a CCA and see what reply I get.  I think the company was Mr Lender not sure.  Thank you once again for your assistance.

No.

send lantern our sb letter from the debt collection section of our library.

no point in a cca if it is sb'd, would mean nothing.

go check your credit file 1st ensure it does not show.

I have checked my credit file I have two showing one for £44.00 dated 3/4/17, updated 8/7/2020, default date 30/3/18

second was for £131.00 dated 5/5/17 updated 8/7/20 defaulted 30/2/18.  Total amount they are asking for is £1004.46.

Hope this helps

Given the dates you’ve provided, CCA to the debt owner
