I'm trying a new thread. My post has a high and the low as it happens, but your posts don't have to. I just thought it might be nice to have a sport discussion for people who are interested.

So Lewis Hamilton won Imola at the weekend and could well be world champion for a seventh time, equalling Ayrton Senna. And Mercedes secured the constructors' championship.

The sad news is that Sir Bobby Charlton has been diagnosed with dementia and I wish him and his family well.

Resurrecting this thread. It was a good day for Britis in sport yesterday.

England are in the quarter finals of Euro 2020.

Mark Cavendish won his first Tour de France stage in five years.

Dan Evans is through to the next round at Wimbledon.

There's an amazing video of the last 30 seconds of Mark Cavendish's race.

Gary Lineker's advice to England fans, from Twitter.

'If you’re lucky enough to get a ticket for the final, please, please don’t boo the Italian anthem. A/ It’s an absolute belter and worth listening to. B/ It’s bloody rude, disrespectful and utterly classless.'

Mark Cavendish won again today as the Tour de France arrived in Carcassonne, despite having a puncture. The teamwork was brilliant throughout and he's now equalled Eddy Merckx' record for stage wins.

The IoM must be very proud.

I don't think you're alone in thinking that about Italy, TGM. But I think the young England team and Gareth Southgate behaved superbly throughout the competition despite nasty comments on social media.

I don't think I could have handled things this well at their age.
