Ask for the cam belt they take out. Regardless of what they say,

If its faulty, such as worn or in anyway damaged it not your problem.

If they remove the cambelt they will have to replace it because there would not be any logic to reinstall a partly worn one because in a few thousand miles you would have to replace it anyway and end up paying for it twice if we remove a cambelt to check it we replace them, not only because of the above but you have to retension the belt and you have a belt that is bedded in if you tighten it further you could end up the belt failing in the near future
