I always pay my car tax by DD ,

renewed in November and my bank showed FIRST PAYMENT Dec1st 2018 and my car registration so confirming it had set up correctly ,

had a letter in June !!  saying they were fining me £170 for driving without tax

I immediately called and paid the back tax & paid for 6 months on line

but they wouldn't discuss why this had happened

I wrote to them , Direct debit still live with bank by the way

they have now replied that they stopped the direct debit as my car had no MOT !

the mot was due in mid January so it was valid when the 1st pmt went out in December,

was still valid when they failed to take the second payment

and by the 1st February payment it had a new MOT ( was a delay as it needed some work done )

no notification was received at all that they stopped the direct debit as I would have been on it like a flash

they are still insisting I pay the fine as after investigation they said the mot was out of date

totally ignoring the copy I sent them ??

I haven't got that kind of money to pay them that's why I pay in instalments

any advice?

do I keep fighting?

sounds like normal for DVLA

find the person with a brain cell....

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
