Hi,

Ive got a few questions that i couldnt find in the faq.

If i submit a claim against Lloyds for my credit card charges will they have any right to close my bank account with them? Im guessing probably not but just wanted to see if anyone knows.

I also have a Barclaycard account, and wish to submit a claim but i have a Sky card which is issued by Barclaycard. The Sky card is a new account, and there is nothing owing on the original Barclaycard account. Same question as the one above.

When sending a DPA request im aware that i will have to send a £10 cheque, anyone know who to make cheques payable to. Is it LLoyds Tsb Bank, Barclays Bank, Capital One Bank etc.

That probably sounds a stupid question but i havent writtten a cheque for years.

I would a appreciate some help, sorry for rambling. :)

Excellent site btw

Cheers

They can probably try to close your account, any excuse will do for them so it would be wise to open a new one elsewhere before you start.

Make DPA cheque out to whichever bank you are requesting the info from.

Open a post in the relevant bank section and keep us all informed!

Hi,

Thanks for your response, sorry i didnt make myself clear on cheque issue. I know i have to send one to each company when im doing a DPA request, i just wasnt sure who to make it out to, ie Capital One bank or Capital One Bank Europe etc.

I just remembered that it tells you who to make your payment to on the back of the statement, i assume this would be the same for DPA request?

thanks

...will they have any right to close my bank account with them? .....

No actual right, but then again, when did banks and CC companies follow the letter of the law? If they did, we wouldn't be claiming back these unlawful charges.

I doubt they would do it - and the only option to you if they did would be to make a complaint to the OFT - See THIS post
