in response to sillygirl1,

brighthouse is not aimed at these type of people...we offer these goods to people who can also enjoy the lifestyle that they wouldn't normally be able to enjoy....

a sensible sales advisor wouldn;t "over sell" to someone who cant really afford it...

brighthouse isn't all that bad!!!!!!

:p

"we offer these goods to people who can also enjoy the lifestyle that they wouldn't normally be able to enjoy...."

Please clarify that for me because the majority of customers I have come across are actually skipping a weekly shop, meals and other essentials in order to keep Brighthouse off their backs?

I can only speak for the store I deal with and let me tell you, they will sell you practically anything without even checking peoples financial status or predicament.

Then as a Brighthouse employee who has joined the forum, may I ask how you would deal with a customer whose partner had taken his own life? Would you ring for a washing machine payment on the day of his funeral knowing full well it was the day of his funeral? and you were made fully aware of the customers circumstances?

Are Brighthouse staff actually trained to deal with matters as such? And do Brighthouse staff courses offer training in compassion and empathy or do they revolve around the politics of agreements and how the yellow money works?

I'm not being rude to you or trying to patronise you and I'm sure as you say, you do your job correctly etc, but issues like this are going on with the company you are employed by. If you read my post 'Dear Brighthouse' you will find that your company is actually inhumane darling.

Nobody is being rude. Surely, as a responsible corporate citizen, and someone who believes in their job and sells "sensibly", you must surely have thicker skin than that?

The original post to this thread is almost two years old!

And you ARE dishing out quotes:

"we offer these goods to people who can also enjoy the lifestyle that they wouldn't normally be able to enjoy...."

From BrightHouse web site:

"to provide customers with the means to access household goods and services to improve the quality of their lives"

(Slightly different take... same bull****) !

I have contact with many BrightHouse employees (including one very disillusioned branch manager) and the level of dissent amongst them quite alarming. Staff turnover within the company is very high. I think it takes a very “special” type of person to actually enjoy working for BrightHouse!

Why don't you introduce yourself properly, and let the forum know what you have to offer?

Cheers

Lefty

i dont feel the need to introduce myself to you..

i simply came on here to try and help,,,as i am new to this forum i didnt notice that the date is above the original post....sorry

i do enjoy working for brighthouse and wish to say goodbye to you all as i am obviosly not welcome!!!

only trying to put my opinion across and help!!

also i belive in the company mission statement and take it quite seriously,

didnt mean to cause any offence...

thank you for your warm welcome tho!

These contributions relate to Nov. 2006 but I just thought I'd let everyone know that Brighthouse are still up to their old tricks.

My daughter is a single parent and bought a sofa from Brighthouse. She couldn't keep up the payments.

She phoned me in tears last week to say that the collector from Brighthouse had been banging on her door, peering through the windows and shouting through the letter box.

She owes £70 in arrears.

I contacted Brighthouse and offered to pay her arrears. I live some distance away so any payment had to be by post or phone.

Brighthouse refused to accept my credit card and insisted that I pay by debit card.

I have been advised by my bank previously that any shopping or money transactions that I make by phone or internet should never be by debit card. Giving someone your debit card details is a bit like giving them direct access to your bank account.

I offered to pay by cheque which they accepted. But yesterday I had a phone call from the collector to say they won't accept my cheque unless I write my debit card details on the back of the cheque.

What the hell sort of company is this?

They claim to be a reputable company but they will only deal in cash or debit cards.

After a quick web search I have found numerous people who claim to have been threatened and abused by Brighthouse staff.

I have to say I didn't find any of their staff helpful and a lesson in manners wouldn't go amiss.

I asked for the head office number to complain. Like so many others they refused to give it to me.

They seem to prey on people who can least afford it. They give ridiculous amounts of credit to people who stand very little chance of making the repayments.

I'd be pleased to hear if anyone has any success in tackling Brighthouse in their unethical business approach.

I am with brighthouse and must be one off the lucky ones my store is brill

I got a letter of apoligy from thier head office! How did I manage that you wonder! Well they left a threathen message with my daughter who is a minor. It was like the others your money or there will be a knock at the door, I was out the country at the time dealing with a personal situation that far out weighed a dishwasher and tv payment! So had them on the DPA for discussing my personal business with someone else! Had the manager on the phone to as quick as you like and even called me to make sure my letter of appoligy had arrived. I have kept it and if EVER they do a thing like that again I will not hesitate to take it further.

Berlioz they have done exactly the same thing to my friends son this morning! A neighbour witnessed it plus luckily it's all on CCTV.

Seems the managing director of Brighthouse likes the Peter Rackman approach eh! The kid must have been frightened to death, the two bailiffs looked like they'd escaped from Wandsworth!
