I apologize if this may be a stupid question.

I've recently been looking into getting defaults removed from my Credit Report,

one method I come across was sending letters to the relevant creditors stating I never received a letter warning of a default,

and asking for them to provide evidence of this within 28 days,

if they are unable to, then hopefully resulting in the Default being removed.

Would this method be wise to try even if the default was issued with a debt that was in conjunction with a Debt Relief Order?

Thank you

many have tried and many have failed, if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

And if they produce a default letter, what then?

Are you in a DRO? multiple debts etc?

I had DRO on multiple debts, was discharged April last year.

If they produce a letter then I guess I'd just leave it,

however if I manage to get atleast one removed with a creditor,

it's still something, and can't do no harm in trying.

However like I mentioned above, just unsure if this would even with the debts being part of a DRO.

If you completed the DRO last year, then any default would have been prior to this i assume?

The DRO will stay on your file for 6 years so i cant see how a default on your file is hurting you any more than the DRO.

If the debts in question were part of the DRO then they cant issue a default after it has been completed and you have been discharged

Thanks for your reply. I've actually never thought of it like that,

the DRO is doing me as much damage as the Defaults themselves,

so why am I even worrying about them,

some strange reason that's made me feel slightly better about thing's,

even though a DRO is nothing to be proud of.

The defaults were issued up until the DRO ended.

I have contacted some companies however to get them to update their records as I was still being defaulted to this day which should of been only up until the DRO ended,# and then the accounts should of been marked satisfied.

I think I have one more company who want proof of the discharge letter, so guess I'll get that sorted.

If the date of the DRO is later than the defaults then the defaults will go before the DRO does.

Send the final discharge letter copy and then forget about it all till its dropped off your CRA file, theres nothing you can do about removing the DRO from your file

all the defaults must have been registered before or ON the date the DRO started.

if they are not

then go complain to the ORIGINAL CREDITOR

that the default date iswrong

the LASTEST it canbe is the start date of the DRO.

as for marking your file 'since' the start date of the DRO

makes not odds [the calendar part]

it cant harm your score further.

Oh.

I've been contacting creditors saying the default should of been satisfied up until my discharge date. Are you saying it should only be up until the DRO started, not ended?

when you enter into a DRO or IVA etc

if your debts are not already showing as default in the debt summary

it should be the start date of the DRO.

a default showing satisfied or settled makes no odd

the default is there for 6yrs regardless
