A woman driver has been hit with a £100 fine by parking wardens - for putting a letter 'O' instead of a zero for her number plate.

Laura Ingarfield, 50, tapped in her registration number into the parking machine on a trip to the cinema.

But she was outraged when was fined - because she tapped in CPO6 TVD instead of CP06 TVD.

Laura showed the parking firm, Minster Baywatch, and told them it was a 'simple mistake' after a night at the cinema in Aberavon.

The company said he had broken the letter of the law - and rejected her appeal against the fine.

Perfectly sums up what the PPC ' industry ' is about. And it is not managing car parking spaces...

Obviously Minster Baywatch then went on to explain exactly which law had been broken and how.

The BPA wouldnt support them in this instance if you believe their output on proportionality but it is a very common complaint so perhaps Minster will be sanctioned but we wont get to hear about it.

As usual these parking firms are completely unable to apply any common sense, I appealed a parking ticket for the same reason - pointing out that even a 10 year old could see that it was only 1 letter wrong, fortunately they cancelled it.

If they take that woman to court I can just imagine the judge's reaction.

I hope she sticks to her principles and lets them issue a claim against her.
