Can you believe it.

A 93 year old war veteran targeted.

23,000 Pounds taken in a few hours.

Video of this crime.

The victim was withdrawing money when he was distracted by one of the men while another obtains the victim's PIN number and switches his bank card. It was only when he tried to use his card again a few days after the theft he realised the cards had been changed.

Officers said that within a few hours of the theft, which took place on December 14 just before 3pm, the men had withdrawn £23,000 from the victim's account.

DI Simon Bromiley, who is leading the investigation, said:

What is quite clear from our inquiries so far is that these three men were very well organised in their deception and very selective about their victim.

They watched the gentlemen as he came into the bank and then carried out this despicable and callous theft"

Well i understand where you are coming from.

Whatever age of a person this happens to is terrible for them.

However the age of this man, well it could have a serious effect on him.Shock at such a age is not good at all.

As for the war veteran mention something he was,a bit of history about him.

Just as a younger person they may say what they done in the past.Or at the moment.Perhaps something about their family.

Gives a bit of depth to the story. Some information that some would find interesting.

More from a TV or newspaper perspective rather than a cold police report.

And who knows it might just spur people on to find these men and give some publicity to the crime.

That is all.

I see exactly what is being said and understand it fully and have all the sympathy for the gentleman.

When someone wanted to either stop a story or be sure to win an argument they always mentioned children or green (as in the environment) and how can you say anything against either of them. It's just that now to gain sympathy a war time vet seems to be the number one mention.

It doesn't really add anything, someone was robbed and at 93 probably more vulnerable and trusting than a younger person, but the loss of hard earned is just as catastrophic for the rest of us.
