Hi is anyone else having problems with Chrome?

Just recently it is crashing constantly, I am on windows 8, It was fine when I first changed over to it, I was on Firefox before as I do not like IE.

 

My computer is not that old and is a Packard Bell, I need a browser that works! and one that play games on the Face Book on the odd occasion I go on there

Chrome works fine for me. Maybe it just needs to be reinstalled, or you need to check the extensions youre running

Cant say its ever crashed for me, and i develop web apps using it. Whats the crashlog say.

chrome is not responding, do you want to wait or close? I close it and restart it and get a message asking if I want to restore the pages it closed down sometimes I just get a white page

There is a free upgrade from 8 to 8.1 which ironed out some things that were wrong and also that people didn't like.

 

Click on the store icon and get it, it will install itself. Then you can see if you are still having a problem with Chrome which has been updated to make it more usable with Windows 10.

ok, I used to get the message asking if I wanted to upgrade to windows 8.1 but now get asked if I want to upgrade to windows 10!

Then upgrade. You should always use the latest installation. Especially if its a service pack.

I do not want windows 10 atm, not heard anything good about it, it is only recently that problems have arose with Chrome

I had problems with Chrome under 8.1. ? Tr downloading Chrome Canary a 64 bit Chrome browser or upgrade to free Windows 10

I have not used 8.1 , may try Chrome Canary if problems carry on but am not upgrading to Windows 10 atm

You could try Pale Moon an offshoot of Firefox

8.1 definitely better, it cleared up many of the issues in 8 If you do upgrade to 10, visit Howto Geek for guides on how to lock down the privacy holes and Microsoft snooping. Set your download to metered on 10 as it has a sort of peer to peer arrangement like a torrent taking some of your your upload bandwidth to propagate updates.

To me, one of the big things in 8.1 is that it gives you back the red x in the top right corner so you can close pages. Just one of many things but I did miss the x.

Why shy away from Windows 10. Can I assume that you have a touch screen?? Once you have managed to iron out the Microsoft spying (which is quite easy or you can use a small software program to stop the spying) it is 100% better than Windows 8 and 8.1
