Do you have to show write down savings on application for contribution based JSA( I know it doesn't affect getting it), but curious. Also, is oine of those letters similar to the housing benefit's green letter come through post? If you live in a shared house people you live with will then know. Also, how people know who is on benefits-e.g. how would you know if your neighbour was on them?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

When you claim JSA you will be asked if you want to claim JSA© only, or both JSA© and JSA(IB). You can't choose to claim IB only. If you choose to claim C only you will not be asked to supply evidence of savings and capital as it is not relevant to your claim. If you choose to claim both then you will need to provide the relevant evidence.

As to the letters, well, people who know what DWP letters look like won't have trouble recognising one. Of course, the main reason why someone would know what a DWP letter looks like is that they themselves are claiming or have claimed benefits. As to how you would know if a neighbour is claiming benefits? You don't, unless they tell you - there's no "register of benefit claimants" you can look up to find out.

if you are only claiming jsa© you do not need to provide information about savings

though you will have to provide savings informations if you also want to claim for help with rent or council tax
