they made you sign new agreement, solely to pay off their unlawful penalty charges for being late?

that's very bad practice.

as for the monitor, I bet you've paid OSC/DLC on all these things

so you've paid for it to be replaced by their 'wonderful' insurance, several times over already

they should replace it with a gold plated version by now under soga.

the osc/dlc you've paid on all you items can be reclaimed.

and you'll prob find, at the point of making you sign new agreement for the unlawful charges

you actually owed them now, if you take off the OSC/DLC.

I'd be getting an SAR off to head office

and get all the statements and paperwork from day one

then get reclaiming the lot

just remember these people banging at your door are NOT BAILIFFS

and they have

NO SUCH LEGAL POWERS

just remember too they cant force entry

nor take any goods without you agreeing to them being removed

and if you've paid more than 1/3rd, then they need a COURT ORDER

and it wont be them that take them either

it would be a court bailiff.

call the police if they persist.

Good Morning lisaleo,

Thank you for your post.

I am sorry to hear that you are receiving text messages, telephone calls and visits to the property.

When an account falls into arrears, we try to contact the customer to see if there is anything we are able to do to support the situation. I would like to reassure you that our company policy is that our staff will never enter a customer’s home unless invited to do so by the customer.

I understand the store were able to do a re-write on your account for the previous arrears, which removes the arrears and adds it to the end of the agreement in turn helping you maintain the weekly payments rather than struggling to catch up with a little extra each week.

I would like assure you that we appreciate our customers’ circumstances may change and are committed to assisting our customers through any financial difficulties. If your BrightHouse account is in arrears, we’ll listen to your individual circumstances and then agree on the best course of action to help you get back on track. We do have a number of options which may help lessen your payments and we are keen to assist you and discuss the options available to help bring your account back on track.

Because this is an anonymous forum, I am unable to see any of your account details, therefore I ask that you email customer.relations@brighthouse.co.uk with your full name and address and reference your CAG username. Once we have been able to establish your account information, we will help you in any way we can and will be able to advise you of your options. Alternatively, I would encourage you to consider contacting our Customer Relations Team on 0800 526 069 as this would allow for us to discuss your concerns with you directly and allow for a speedier resolution.

The Customer Relations Team will also be happy to help resolve the situation with your monitor and escalate to the correct management.
