hi

i would also like some advice.

i was also stuck in the payday loan spiral for 3 years.

i have complaints in with several companies regarding irresponsible lending.

payday express has offered me 25% of interest paid.

i already have an adjuicator with the fos dealing with my complaint from wonga and has already been 5 months

and not getting anywhere.

did you just reject the "gesture of goodwill" offer oceanic and how long did this take for them to offer you full refund.

i think these companies are just trying to offer a little thinking we desperate howver i am willing to wait.

I complained to the ombudsman after the offer of goodwill. It took from the date of my complaint, around 2.5 months to reach conclusion. Don't accept the 25% they obviously know they are going to be found as being in the wrong.

I've got a quickquid complaint which has been upheld too and QQ are dragging their heels.

thank you

im not accepting the 25%

they offered me £225 pounds when i paid over £900.

did you email PE to decline offer.

And i am having hell with quick quid at present (now on the 8th week and they sent me details of account and i had 40 loans over 3 year period.

there date to get back is the 25th april so hopefully will hear something. i will pass the details onto the fos.

did you send the letter PE sent you or just email them the final response.

id rather wait a few months if i get the full reund of interest back.

i already have someone looking throughout all these companies i have logged complaints with so i will pass this one on for her to investigate.

just think 25% is insulting but many people who are still in this circle would just take it.

however i am so glad im out this mess.

thanks for your advice

I went straight to FOS when I got the low offer, they took it from there. PE had the offer in their final response letter.

I called fos to register my complaint, they emailed me a form to complete then I sent in all email correspondence to the person dealing with my case, bank statements and credit file. They took it all from there.

I'm really happy with the service I've got so far, pretty speedy.

My complaints with the FOS are currently in progress but the adjudicator today let me know that he was recommending two out of the three repay all interest paid and all credit footprints removed. (He's still waiting a response from the 3rd company)

After all the misery its great to have results like this and like some of you i'm in line to get back thousands of pounds which i thought were lost. I would say that there can be a marked difference between adjudicators though, in an earlier case with a more culpable company they found in my favour without any communication from me, this current chap has been awesome, lots of questions and clarifications and he's got to the bottom of it.

I think it helps to research similar cases and see how they've adjudicated and mention them in your first correspondence with the adjudicator. All cases are different for sure but it helps to frame the direction of enquiry if as in my instance you can find a case where repeated lending (ie more than 3/4 payday loans) showed a pattern of irresponsible lending by clearly using a short term product over the long term.

Anyways, if you're reading this and afraid of taking it forward then don't be, if you've got the email trails, bank statements and do a bit of research, you have a great chance of getting redress for being wronged.

CFO complaint also upheld and settled - all interest plus charges and 8% plus removal all mention of loan on credit files, 1.7k

well done

when you chose to accept an offer how long do they pay up.

i have fos dealing with my complaints,

i had almost 40 loans with QQ over a 3 year period.

i was getting nowhere with them directly until my adjudicator got involved.

i sent her statement of account she looked and emailed QQ to refund interest and charges.

they offered me almost 1.7k which eqates to approx 82-85 percent of all interest paid

which my adjudicator seems to think its a fair offer.

been almost 2 weeks and no correspondence off QQ (was told they would be in touch with me).

My QQ complaint was upheld and the business offered a total of £1k which was made up of an arbitrary interest figure, interest and compensation. Based on the opinion given by the adjudicator it was pretty clear QQ had made some ridiculous claims, I've rejected the offer as being too low and given more details to support higher pay back.

Lending stream has taken ages but I should get a decision from adjudicator next week sometime.

i worked out that i had paid approx £2k in interest so when i received a call from fos explaining they have made an offer of 1.7k she did say it was a fair offer and if i took it further i may end up receiving less so decided to take it but still havent heard anything from QQ regarding my refund. im not sure how long they have to pay up. but im sure they will make people wait til the very last day. good luck

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I would be very careful about not accepting offers and going to the Ombudsman. I've had offers from maybe 7 or 8 lenders that I've accepted, these were offers to refund over 50% of interest and charges. I went to the Ombudsman with a few complaints that were similar to some of the offers I accepted, and in some cases worse, and the adjudicator couldn't see that they had done anything wrong. Unfortunately because of not checking my emails these cases had been closed before I could ask for an Ombudsman to look at them, but looking at past complaints on their site it is very rare for an Ombudsman to disagree with the adjudicator.

Have (without excepting responsibility for irresponsible lending) discharged debt of £1052 plus sending me compensation of £150. I did have over 8 consecutive loans with them. Payday express close account heard from DCA but nothing from them ?
