Shower Fitting

My father has had a walk in shower fitted and it all looks fine.

 

 

But the problem is it cuts out on a regular basis which is down to the water pressure.

 

 

On going back to the people who fitted the whole unit my Dad was told the water pressure was tested at the time and it's an external fault.

 

 

Our water company don't acknowledge any fault.

 

 

Meanwhile the shower keeps cutting out.

 

 

Have you any advice on how I should deal with this?

Get a water pump installed so your father will get constant pressure and the shower won't (or better, shouldn't) cut off anymore.

Installed water pump will cost you anything between £200 and £400 accordingly to pump and company fitting it.

A local QUALIFIED plumber is your best bet.

Do you think the fitters should have to pay something towards it?

 

 

He paid quite a lot for the fitting in total.

 

 

I feel it's a bit shoddy to leave him with something that does not work properly.

In all fairness, lack of pressure is something that is not related to the initial fitting of the shower.

They should have checked beforehand maybe, but it's not their fault really.

Speak to them and see if they can fit a pump for a reasonable price.

It doesn't take long, the main issue is usually find an electric supply nearby and hide the cable.

My friend recently fitted one in his flat and passed the cable from a socket under the counter in the kitchen, through the pipes boxing and under the bath.

Once passed the cable it's a 15 minutes job.
