Hi Brigs

No, have you tried other supermarkets?

Delete your history & Cookies, then try.

Good morning Rebel

Have tried deleting cookies, search history etc., no effect-

It is a random pop up add, but only when logged into CAG.

Good morning Brigs

Try logging out, then logging back in, sounds like you might have a ad-ware virus on your pc. So might have scan with anti ad-ware software.

That action reminds me of an old active x script exploit. It is very very rare to see now as the vulnerability was patched a long time ago in pretty much every browser. This makes me thing that theres prob just an error on the installation somewhere along with a very badly coded advert script.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

Hi dx yes it is the new machine, in fact when I cam to this page just now the Tesco add showed LH side of screen only partly visible

and flickering, also caused the top of the screen to flicker very quickly.

Opening the full add stops this and |I can go back to the forum page, this Only occurs when I'm logged in to CAG??

To fight adds I have modified my "HOSTS" file.

Here is how to do this on windows 8

http://www.howtogeek.com/122404/how-to-block-websites-in-windows-8s-hosts-file/

And here is a hosts file that blocks pretty much all the adverts on the internet (this also includes instructions for older versions of windows)

http://www.howtogeek.com/122404/how-to-block-websites-in-windows-8s-hosts-file/

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Or send a cheque or postal order payable to Reclaim the Right Ltd.

Click here if you fancy an email address that shows you mean business! (only £6 and that will really help CAG)

If you can't donate, please use the Internet Search boxes on the CAG pages - these will generate a small but regular income for the site

Please also consider using the

I think the advert is spawning from your PC. The last time I had something similar, it wasn't a Tesco ad that popped up in a load of windows... The content was far more - errm - politically incorrect.

Do you have up to date anti virus? If so, have you (recently) done a full scan?

Spybot S&D is a good free anti malware programme. (Malware may not be picked up by your AV software).

http://www.safer-networking.org/mirrors/

I would download and get it to do a full scan.

If all of that comes up clean then I would change your browser to Firefox or Chrome.

IE , have turned off pop ups.

AV scans done I'm on windows 8.1 in built AV.

Have reduced the frequency of this ad appearing, it only occurs when logged into CAG using a gmail address.

Does not show on outlook or Yahoo.

try one of those standalone (free) a/v's mentioned, and also activex filtering on (Tools tab). try activex filtering on first, see if that stops it. dont click on any 'allow' notice (prob flash) when the site loads.

You can get malware/spyware/virus from pop up's !

Turn pop up blocker back on .

Spend some money on a decent Full Internet Security Suite http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?422109-Heartbleed-Bug&p=4547030&viewfull=1#post4547030

before going to cag, try IE with 'security' setting slider to 'high'. tools->internet options->security. see if that stops it.

Thanks Ford I'll do that know and let you now the result.

Done I will let you know what happens,

Thanks Brig.
