I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right forum - but I'm hoping someone might know the answer.

A friend has got an interview for a job in civil service and wonders if he has to declare a conviction he got for assault when he was 14 - he's now 38! The pack says he doesn't have to include spent convictions. His sentence was 40 hours juvenile community service.

He has never been in any other trouble.

All help appreaciated.

Hi,

As the forms say he doesn't have to include spent convictions then no need to. He may get asked at the interview but if they don't ask, don't tell and TBH something that happened 24 years ago isn't going to make a lot of difference now.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor
