Bosch dishwashers recall

In July 2011, a product recall was issued for a fault in a batch of 632,000 Bosch dishwashers, sold between 1999 and 2005 which, in some circumstances, can cause fire.

 

To date only 25% have been traced meaning that 478,940 remain unaccounted for and are still potentially dangerous.

Just like to say that I had two of the machines in question, and had both faulty parts replaced in 2011 under the Bosch scheme. I had replaced one part myself prior to the recall. The part was the control unit in the top of the machine. In 2009 or thereabouts, I was sitting in the kitchen and the machine was running, then there was a loud "bang" and thick smoke came from the front of the machine:shock:. Good job I was there, as I switched the power off straightaway. Who knows what would have happened otherwise:!:. I hope all machines are found! t
