Hello,

I had a letter from someone called 'Pastdue credit solution's'' this morning, asking me to phone 0141 951 6447 - they said I owed

£406.96 for an outstanding debt to 'British Gas' from a previous property I lived in .... I owe no such debt at all ........

I have prepayment meter's and have done ever since I was deserted by my spouse, and had to find a place of my own.

British gas have not communicated to me of any such debt, and I buy my fuel online at british Gas with paypoint top-up direct

from my pc, and each time I top-up I get an email as proof of payment.

Is the letter from Pastdue legitimate ? I really don't want to phone them and waste my time or money.

Thank's x

hi jean.

pcs are simply a dca with very few powers

certainly if you not had a bill from BG in the last 12mts

they cant back bill anyhow

phishing trip me thinks

i've moved you to the utils forum.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

It could well be a phishing letter - I wonder if it would be worth you contacting British Gas and asking them why this company would be demanding money, in their name, when you do not owe BG any money !

I will ask for more advice from Site team for you, before you take any steps to contact anyone.

Right.. dx was posting same time as me
