Just to clarify - post above usless - please ignore.

Have calaculated Loan 1 PPI % rolled over using formula (loan 1 ppi rolled over/ loan 2 + loan 2 PPI) X100

Have calculated Loan 2 PPI % as - (loan 2 PPI / loan 2 + loan 2 ppi) x 100.

Now clear as mud and about to work out loan 2 and consolidation into loan 3. Either need a lie down or a beer!!

Completed spreadsheets - happy with process and outcome. About to complete the FOS questionnnaire.

Would appreciate some advice on what to include in a covering letter.

Since all of your reasoning for the mis-sale will be in the questionnaire, you only need a brief covering letter saying that you believe you were mis-sold and you attach the completed questionnaire and calculations for the refund which you require to be refunded to you without delay.

Any good template letters or links as to the covering letter to go with the FOS questionnaire. Will not include details of spreadsheet or my valuation of the recliam - wait to see what they offer but would like to include in the letter something that indicates I have a failrly accurate estimate of what they should be offering.

All help welcomed.

Good luck :)

If you are confident in your calculations, it won't hurt to include a number. In mine I put something like "I am therefore owed by your organisation, at the very least, £xxxx"

I've been on the phone to HBOS asking to them to tell me what they are now doing to rectify my claim ASAP... they tried to tell me on the phone that they have received no letter, despite me sending it Special Delivery and having EPOD  They are just downright liars.

thegfb vs Natwest PPI - WON - £5.5k refunded October 2011 :-D

thegfb vs Sainsburys Bank PPI - referred to FOS 15/09/2011, WON - £2.7k refunded February 2013

thegfb vs Capital One PPI - Complaint sent September 2012, dragging their heels

ongoing...

Thanks for all your advice so far :D

Personally I favour sending a copy of the spreadsheet with the claim.

However, there is nothing wrong with keeping back your figures to see what they come up with and then challenge if necessary.

Apologies for late response....work is interfering with life sadly.

Quick update - acknowledgement letter received late Jan with usual "will respond within eight weeks". Then out of blue a telephone call to OH requesting some info - took her off guard - wanted to know how one of the loan/ppi was taken out - in branch or phone.

Tempted to write confirming how they were sold and this time including a copy of the spreadsheet and amoungt looking for.
