Hi,

Due to me getting into a mess with pay day loans mercers are hassling me for the money I owe on my barclaycards. I have two because I had an Egg card which Barclaycard bought.

They rang work yesterday and told a colleague it was mercers ringing on behalf of barclaycard. I would rather they did not call work, does anyone have an email address for them so I can drop them a line saying I only want to be contacted in writing.

thanks

Ben

As Mercers are just Barclaycards internal debt collection team, just give them a call and make a complaint about them phoning a work number leaving a message with a work colleague. Ask them to note it as an official complaint.

Contacting you at work is a breach of OFT rules about communication methods. Ask for everything to be kept in writing only.

Suggest that you get some debt advice asap, as you will have years of hassle. Have you posted on CAG asking for any advice on this ?

We could do with some help from you.

Dear oh dear, sharklaycard harassing customers at work, well I never!

That is a very strong formal complaint immediately to sharklaycard, use their own complaints procedure and exhaust it.

Second is to lodge a formal complaint with the OFT regarding the use of a work number to contact you and to intimidate and threaten you by divulging the nature of the call to a work colleague.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
