Was wondering if anyone has had problems installing the BBC iPlayer Desktop? I used to have it installed but because of crappy download speeds I uninstalled it. I now have a decent broadband connection so I decided to install it again.

Went to the install page, pressed the "Install BBC iPlayer Desktop" button and......................... Nothing!!!:-x

It registers the button's been clicked but nothing happens!

Any ideas would be most welcome before I launch my laptop through the window!!:|

Try a diferent browser? You could try this link? http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/BBC-iPlayer_Setup.exe

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Or send a cheque or postal order payable to Reclaim the Right Ltd.

the online desktop installation requires download of Adobe AIR/Flash (if not already installed). check that this is installed and enabled in your browser. also, your work firewall/internet setup may prevent certain downloads/actions.

I would put my money on your system having some sort of virus (when did you last check?). There is obviously other problems besides BBC iplayer (ie Firefox crashing etc...etc). Try installing the program below for free and doing a quick scan.

I don't know what you use for your real time virus protection, but I would recommend Avast Home Edition or Microsoft Security Essentials (both free). I prefer the former myself.

Here are the links.

Do a scan with Malware Bytes first though and if it finds anything, you will have the option to remove the infected items.

Hope you get it sorted.

If all else fails, kick them where it hurts and SOD'EM;)

Well I just tried again without changing anything and it worked 1st time!! Not sure if it was the site or something I had running yesterday that was the problem. Don't ya just love technology!!

Ford: Adobe Air was already installed

Sod'em: Laptop gets scanned on a regular basis with malware bytes, I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to that !! I use AVG free at the mo which is ok'ish, never used Avast so I may give it a whirl sometime.

Cheers for all the suggestions anyway.and for using plain english, I've read through some specialist tech forums & they might as well be talking swahili !!
