Just because he is dead should it all be brushed under the carpet? I think not. He wasn't the only one involved. No he can't stand trial but those who are alive must be answerable to their actions/cover ups, surely?

Yes Yes, I'm weird. I tried being normal once, was the most boring 5 minutes of my life!

The thing is some of the stories are believable. But 120 people suddenly coming out of the woodwork that haven't said anything for almost 40 years? Yea, there's really something not quite right there.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

It must have been pure coincidence that the allegations made in the recent t.v program by the five girls who independently & with no prior knowledge of each other bore a remarkable resemblance. The modus operandi was consistent in all five allegations.

It must also be another coincidence that the BBC's Panorama is preparing an investigation into Jimmy Savile, as the broadcaster deals with the fallout around its controversial decision to drop an earlier Newsnight report. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/oct/09/jimmy-savile-bbc-sex-abuse-allegations

No doubt the five police forces who are investigating these later claims will discredit several & those will be prosecuted for wasting police time.

Because Jimmy Savile is dead it is reasonably safe to discuss the situation, but I've removed one post as it names a live person and could have been defamatory.

I think this might relate to the number of alleged offences, not victims. And yes, although it does seem odd after all this time it could be that the publicity has jogged people's memories or has caused them to put two-and-two together.......dunno, really.

Given this occurrence it would seem even his own family are having their doubts;

Jimmy Savile’s headstone taken away at 1am, smashed up and dumped in a skip once its inscription is removed with grinders – with his family’s blessing

Jimmy Savile allegations: Unmask the OTHER BBC child abusers: Police reveal shocking scale of Savile abuse as they launch hunt for his accomplices | Mail Online

Don't forget it is a hell of a time span, the earliest abuse allegations are from 1959.

Reading the various reports there have been over 120 allegations but those in fact refer to 25 specific cases which the police are now investigating.

Given that these cover a period from 1959 the chances are there are still a lot more yet to be revealed.

Let us not forget that there were several reports previously and no less than five police authorities failed to investigate them fully. The BBC shelved a Newsnight report so it is obvious that they knew & now they are about to produce a Pananorma investigation.

Manchester police investigated Savile in the early/mid sixties, however that was only on the grounds that there were so many teenage girls flocking to his flat, they only acted after Manchester Welfare Committee approached the Manchester/Salford Watch Committee to complain about the number of teenage runaways making their way to Central Manchester an area that was viewed as Sin City. Manchester Police at that time only had a Vice Squad who spent most of their time hounding Homosexuals.

Not sure where the bit about dumping it in a skip came from, but the family have said they were having it removed out of respect for the victims. At least this way the grave won't be so easily identifiable if someone decided to vandalise it.

I just think the whole thing is very sad, and speculation will help no-one. Let's see what the investigation finds.

Thank you for reiterating this, Cerberus - I don't think it can be highlighted enough. These people didn't suddenly hop on the bandwagon after he died, complaints were being made for years.

Both the Daily Fail and the BBC are reporting that it's been removed and will be sent to landfill after it's destroyed. I would hope that however strongly people feel about this, they would respect those who have family buried in that graveyard, and stay away from it completely.

Yes I saw those reports. Having seen the mindless destruction for no reason at the village church graveyard near me for no apparent reason I wouldn't count on that. You might be surpised at the lack of respect that some people have.

It was cited in several newspapers & the BBC as a quote from the Funeral Directors dealing with it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-19893373

The funeral director was on ITV Daybreak programme this morning,,at the grave,,and said the headstone (and it was a huge thing) had been removed during the night at the request of the family to prevent any problems and out of respect to other people that have people buried up there

And that post was made at 10.23pm last night after The Met Police/The Beeb/NSPCC and others tasked with investigating this had all clearly spoken in condemnation.

I think the sad point here is that there will never be any proof that he did or didnt do anything. It's all hearsay and rumour.

If you can show me conclusive proof that he actually did something, and that proof must be more than rumour, or a random woman comining out of the woodwork who simply says she was molested or whatever, i will 100% apologise, back right out of the thread, and admit completely i was wrong.

I use the innocent until proven guilty way of living. Not the other way around.
