I was due to get a reply to my 7 day letter from Egg on Wednesday but I thought I'd give them until the end of the week, however I've just received this via secure message;

Dear Claire

Thanks for your message.

If you do need anything in the meantime please let me know, we're here to help.

Do you think they keep sending me messages like this (see previous posts) to keep me sweet? Shall I wait for them to respond (whenever that may be) or shall I go ahead and send them the letter before action?

Many thanks in advance :)

Dear Miss EKK!!!,

Thank you for your email - However I am confused as to the nature of your enquiry as all charges and interest have been frozen on your account.

I've recieved a letter today however it must have been sent before they recieved my LBA.

Your Complaint

Dear Miss EEK!!!

Re: Your Egg account xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you for your recent letter regarding the problems you have experienced. I have taken personal responsibility for resolving this for you.

I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this matter may have caused, customer service is important to Egg and I am sorry that on this occasion we have not met your expectations.

I have investigated the situation and set out the summary of my findings for you below.

What I understand your complaint to be about

• You believe that Egg have charged you late payment fee’s unpaid direct debit fee’s and over limit charges totalling £389.52 on the above accounts.

What my findings are after investigating it

• I can confirm that the above accounts were frozen when we were first informed of your financial circumstances by the CCCS. (I’m with PAYPLAN and besides that's not what my complaint is about!!)

• We would not make any internal charges as both of the above accounts were frozen.

• If you can provide evidence of dates and which card(s) you think we have charged then please send this to me in the prepaid envelope enclosed.

In view of the above I am sorry to inform you that I do not accept your complaint.

Even though we do not accept your complaint, I still need to ensure that you are aware of your rights in relation to a complaint against us.

• You know have six months from the date of this letter to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service – further details are available on http://WWW.financial-ombudsman.org.uk. A copy of their leaflet is available, so please contact if you would like one sent to you.

I am sorry we are unable to agree to your request on this occasion.

Yours sincerely

Should I now wait until I have a reply regarding my LBA or shall I reply to this letter? Thanks in advance.

Dear Miss EEK!!!!,

Thank you for your secure message. Please accept our apologies for the delay in reply.

Please be assured that Egg have not acted unlawfully in applying charges to your account.

As you have been advised by our Customer Relations Office, charges were frozen on your account when the reduced offer was accepted. Your complaint was fully investigated at the time and a response sent.

Yours Sincerely

Sarah Peer

Right that's it no mercy I'm preparing my court precedings today. I'll post it later for you all to have a look at and of course to double check I've done it properly.

ps do you think because I am with a company like payplan this will affect my claim? I've planned (if) when I get my money back to put it towards paying off my egg cards,

Thanks

Could you start your own thread on this instead of hijacking EEK!!!'s, please?

I thought the whole purpose of this forum was to provide like-minded people the opportunity to help and support each other with their own personal claims.

I would hardly class my post as 'Hijacking'!....****!

People feel reassured to make a claim themselves after reading that others are in the same situation.

I think you need to go and have a wee think to yourself Bookworm.

There's is no need whatspever to insult people who are trying their damn hardest to help others.

The rules state not to hijack other people's thread (in respect of their claim progress*) so don't do it. In my opinion, if its just a general discussion sort of thread, then fine.

*This rule makes it easier for people to keep track of the claim, and also for the original poster (OP) to keep track of the replies easier.

If the rules said that you have to start all your posts with "I am a clown" then you do it or don't use the forums.

In any case, I think an apology is due....

Good point. I did. And this is the result of my thoughts:

- If you don't understand the term "hijacking" in context, you obviously haven't read the forum rules, least agreed to abide by them. o-hum.

- If you swear at another poster, you obviously have no respect for that other person, and I would therefore find it hard to call you "like-minded" to the other people on this forum, who are mostly polite and understanding to one another.

- If you swear at a MODERATOR, you seem to have little interest in staying in this forum.

In conclusion to my wee think, I, as well as the other moderators in this forum, will be keeping a close eye on your future posts. Any hint of aggression towards another poster, and you're gone. Have a nice day now. :)

Ok, calm down, eh? eh?

If you start your own thread, it's much easier for people to help you - you can post the replies you get back from egg and people can make an informed opinion.

Don't take it personally - it gets busy in here and everyone is a little stretched sometimes.
