I have recently lost my job due to illness and claimed on a payment protection policy on a loan. The insurance company are only paying the interest rate as ot was at the time the loan was taken out. Is this normal?

How awfull for you.

If i was you the 1st thing i would do is, get a copy of the agreement and have a good browse through it.

Wasnt your loan at a fixed interest rate? a % to the amount borrowed, i didnt think that could change..

or am i right off track here??

Is it a mortgage? secured loan?

Ye, read the T&Cs and come back here. If you find it then let us know. If you can't find it then maybe you could scan us the T&Cs and we'll have a look.

Hello!

Ask them for a copy of the terms and conditions which you signed. They do update these periodically so you should specify that you require the documents relating to the time at which you signed the agreement.

Any problems please come back to us.

I will, in the meantime, try to look on the internet for this company and any details pertaining to loan insurance.

Nothing on the web.

Looks like the policy Cardif Pinnacle provided was tailr made for the loan company.

Please supply as much info as you can, then I may be able to help you more.
