Thanks for the advice. I am just hoping I can sit it out for the next few months and it will become statute barred and my default will drop of early next year. Yes this is the same debt as in oct 12. I started this thread as 1st credit sent a letter to my parents which I have never even lived at. They have so far sent 4 letters threatening the intention to proceed with bankruptcy. They are ringing and texting me nearly every day.

It seems there is an attempt to get action started behind your back, maybe a judgement by default or the issue of statutory demand to the wrong address, have 1st Credit been told of your correct address at anytime?

I have not moved house for nearly 10 years, therefore the debt is registered to my current address. I think because 1st credit were not getting any replies from me at my current address they did a random letter to someone with the same initial and surname as me in the city where I live which happened to be my parents. i have never had any connection with the address that my parents live at now. The recent letters are all coming to my current address.

Hello Sarah, welcome to CAG,

Calling a debt collection agency is probably the worse thing you can do as you have found.

Fortunately telephone conversations cannot affect certain limitations that apply to debts.

When was the last payment or WRITTEN acknowledgment made on this account?
