Hi,

I have missed a number of payments on a VERY catalogue (Use to be Little woods) They passed the debt onto National Recovery who keep adding £12 chargers on to my account.

I have today sent a SAR request to Very, but they have also sent me an email asking if I would agree to paying my account over 3 years at 0%.

They need my confirmation that this is agreeable to me and to set up a payment plan but if I am successful in reclaiming my chargers it will take a massive chunk off my debt.

Should I start payments?

Maybe two or three years account with them (Originally Littlewoods).

Why do you think something is up?

I have copied the email I received from them and posted it below

Dear Customer

Thank you for your email about an offer of a possible payment. Unfortunately we are unable to accept your offer.

Alternatively, we can provide you with the opportunity to reschedule your outstanding balance on your account for up to 3 years, which will provide you with a more manageable monthly payment.

Below is an illustration of what your new monthly payments could look like. Please note, these figures are based on your current balance as of today. This may change with any recent transactions.

Current Balance - 876.32

Credit Charge - 0.00

APR - 0%

Total Balance - 876.32

4 weekly Payments - 67.44 over 52 weeks, 33.72 over 104 weeks, 22.48 over 156 weeks

If you would like to discuss this option please contact us 0844 8224090. If we do not hear from you within 14 days, we will assume you no longer require our assistance in this matter and we will expect normal payments to resume.

Please note that failure to bring your account up to date will lead to administration charges being added to your account and could affect your ability to obtain future credit. Your account may ultimately be passed to external collection agencies.

Kind Regards

I would like to add that this email is in responds to is an email asking them to give me details of a payment plan in writing as I wanted a written audit of all communication with them. I never actually made an offer of payment to them.

Your thought would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Reply today from Very.

I keep asking them to send the paper work through the post but they refuse and say it can only be set up on the telephone.

I don't really want to do that I want to see everything in black and white :|

Dear Customer

Thanks for your email.

The 3 year plan is 22.48 every 28 days.as stated in the last email you have to ring 0844 822 4090 if you want to take the plan up, this can only be set up over the telephone.

Kind Regards

Joan Brown

Think I paid them in April 2010 then haven't been able to pay them from then.

Never actually CAA them, I just said I was going to, then my debt was passed to National Debt Recovery.

I then received a letter through the post stating that I was a "valued customer of Very and as such they were offering me a opportunity to repay the debt over 3 years at 0% apr and I was to telephone then to discuss this and they did acknowledge that my debt had already been passed to NDR, but were giving me this opportunity if I responded within 7 Days".

I emailed them on numerous occasion asking for everything to be in writing but they always say I have to ring to set this payment plan up.

I do not remember sending the signed credit agreement back to Littlewoods (as that was would I initially took the catalogue out with).

If I CCA them now will I lose the opportunity to pay them back at 0% as the APR on this account is 39.9%!!!!!!!

Unreasonbable behavour by Very, written confirmation only, inform them you will contact FSA regarding their e.mail comment regarding telecon only, give them 7 days to write the offer, else it unfair practices on their part? to my mind?

Really? Well that is very interesting!

Thanks MIKE770, I will contact them today and let them know that.

I have requested all the paperwork on numerous occasions and am told that this can only be set up over the telephone.

Cheers
