You guys seem to be missing the point entirely.

 

Currys aren't going to just exchange or refund the laptop outside of 28 days. You could put the best argument in the world across to them, and they'll just say it's against company policy. The customer facing staff just won't do it, the management won't let them. And as they don't deal with any of the legalities, you'd have to speak to the litigation department and drag them practicaly to the courtroom door before they give in.

 

They won't enforce your rights until they know they have no other choice. Remember, they expect people to give up before it reaches court.

 

We've had everyone from trading standards to police officers the customers just happened to know march up and demand their refunds. We just directed them to litigation and got on with our jobs, unfortunately it's the ultimate stonewall.
