I've been reading this forum past few days, I really appreciate that there are many of you out there who are willing to support another.

I've realised that Default accounts (even though managed) are taken equivalent to CCJs, and I also learned that there is a way to get rid of it.

I had two current accounts with overdraft facilities.

I went over the overdraft limits with bank charges.

Bank decided to withdraw the overdraft on both account and requested the full amount.

Also, I had loans with them that the bank was adding charges for each time they were not being paid, quickly the sum got larger.

I do not think I have received warnings for default but I remember they were asking for the money.

I understand this can be challenged for both defaults not being notified and for the excessive bank changes that placed the account overdrawn.

I am wondering if any success stories out there.

Many thanks.

well no defaults are bad yes - but not anywhere near as bad to your credit rating as CCJ's

now, you can certainly reclaim the charges & p'haps get the defaults removed IF they were solely caused by the charges alone.

look on the homepage for the lastest advice on reclaiming bank charges.

as for the loan ones, they are easy to reclaim + interest! so get researching.

unless you have all the statements for the loan, i'd suggest an SAR to the bank is your first step, unless you know the dates and ammounts on the loan charges already.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

i doubt they would remove defaults on a partial settlement if at all

i'd get back as much money then look at the situation again.

as i said, IF you can PROVE the defaults are solely caused by their unlawful charges then they should be removed if you reclaim is successful.
