hi All,

I have just been speaking to sky with regards to paying my bill which is a week late because i have been away :p

To cut a long story short my tv went off due to not paying my bill, so I have rang them up to pay over the phone and pay on my card as i have done for nearly 3 years now.

Some women at sky is telling me the only way I can now pay for sky is to pay by direct debit and not the way i have been paying for nearly 3 years , I personnel dont do direct debits so i can keep an eye what is going out each month. Are sky legally aloud to do this?? I have had no notification in any letters or anything saying this, even on my last bill, dated 6/8/09 it says i can pay by debit card

Can anyone give me advise on this please ;)

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

No, they wont unless i set up a direct debit and pay the bill. she said it is something Sky are now doing because of all the times they have to put the telly back on for people.

is there anything I can do as I am missing the football now :(

If they don't want my money why don't they just say :D

It is now more the fact they are trying to move the goal posts. Why should I be forced to pay in a way I never have before

I am that mad about it I have just spoke to Virgin media but I can't get the telly in my area

Talk of bad days

have you ever been late before?

sadly they provide a non utility govn'ed service and are governed by no-one as such but themselves. they make the rules.

if you've never defaulted them, i think its a bit harsh but 2 mts is not that big a deal surely?

Go online and pay the bill that way, I do it and they keep trying to say I owe them money when it is the other way around. They cannot just do it by direct debit as it is an unfair term. They will take money on the wrong day, especially just before Xmas and bank holidays.

Since I stopped all direct debits on my bank account I haven't had a single bank charge - that was three years ago now.
