Over the past few years that I have been with lloyds I have been charged fees for being overdrawn and also for unpaid direct debtis which sometimes its there direct debits i.e. bank loan that sometimes makes me overdrawn hence being charged £30 a time. I feel I have been pressured into taking out loans to stop this cycle and have even laised with them updating them about my financial difficulty but still they charge leaving me out of pocket every month. Can you assist on how I go about seeing if this is done lawfully or if there is anything I can do to possibly retrieve these charges back. I have even considered leaving Lloyds but I cant open another bank account because of my poor credit rating.

Thanks

You can do lots about it. You've arrived here so you are in safe hands now.

Start off by readin thoroughly through th eforum posts. There is lots of information. After yo have read the Rules, begin with the FAQs until you think that you understand the situation. Then come back here and ask any questions.

In the meantime go to the Library, get the sample letter and ssend it to the bank and get all of your statements for the last - up to 6 - years. Work out how much you have lost. Then begin.

Let us know how you get on and come back here for support whenever you need it.

Your post raises one new idea. The fact that maybe you have been mis-sold loans in order to deal with a problem which has been largely the making of the bank.

I need to think this one out.

Just to add to this - when i went to the bank today, they tried to sell me a loan when they seen how much money i owed saying that it would consolidate my payments. I have a loan already with another bank and a credit card with another and they said i should pay these off with a loan from Lloyds.

I have already had loans off Lloyds when they have 'persuaded' me to take them. Learned my lesson now and refused.

Thanks for getting back to me I have taken the first steps with your letter from the library and you did say to post my statements also with the letter stating the charges, I caluclated last night it was in the region of over £1000, having looked through the charges I have received just to let you know that I was charged £180 for unpaid standing order plus an additional £90 for unpaid dd so in one month I was charged well over £250 for charges and with a salary of £1200 per month and being a single parent you can imagine how I felt. Does this sound reasonable to you.

I look forward to haring from you
