With all the money they have, you'd think she would pay for some lessons.

I wonder if Kerry Katona has discovered CAG yet? Would probably save her having to go bankrupt. ;)

According to her solicitor she is due money for work done but the company wont pay her till the adverts are showing on tv which is not till middle of Sept at earliest. god knows what her contract would have said i am sure her publisist Max Clifford would have seen that clause in the contract. i thought if u had done the work u were entitled to the money.

I listened to the Jeremy Vine programme on Radio 2 the other week, they were debating the apostrophe and its use(s). In the end a chap said we should just do away with it, as in the spoken context you can not differenciate if an apostrophe is being used or not.

To be honest I kind of agree.

What nonsense. You could say the same about colons, dashes, parentheses, and semicolons - but without them, written text gets very difficult to read.

And this shows that you do need punctuation even when you are speaking!

I agree Barra. I read a lot of books and I couldn't cope without aposptrophes, etc. After all, this is the English language we're talking about here. It's designed to be difficult so why is it that non-Brits can pick it up better than us?

i think u will find it is because we have become lazy. They pick it up like kids do what they hear. So if we dont use the correct prenouncation then they will pick it up properly to.

As long as anyone reading what you type understands it, then there's no harm in a few mistakes here and there. It's the usefulness of the information that's provided that's important. I doubt a court case has ever been lost because of a missing comma or a mispelt word. :D

When I use MS Word I use Dragon Naturally speaking 11. Works really well and saves struggling with a knacked wine soaked keyboard that misses letters out. Laptops have to be the most difficult things to type on. Apart from tiny Sony Ericsson mobile phone keypads. Imagine 12 keys in a space of 36 x 22 milimeters in size, and the average fingertip being 20 x 20 mm in size.

As for crimbo dinner I have to cook four courses for 12 people in someone elses kitchen. Nightmare. I'm going to do a Keith Floyd and make sure there's lots of wine to drink while I'm cooking.

At the rate I go through wine, dessert will be egg and chips all round. :D

excellent voice recognition software, but requires dual core CPU and about 2 GB memory to run properly. Then you just talk to the computer with a microphone and what you say comes up in word. All punctuation and spellings all sorted for you. It's about 98% accurate after 15 mins opf training it to your voice. and once you get used to it, you can easily hit 120 words a min.

I just wish it would work on here. I can't be bothered with copy and pasting everything. So you'll have to live with my mispelt words and missing letters for the time being. :p

Ah that's ringing bells with me - I think we had that on our first computer but I never got round to playing with it :p

At 115wpm typist myself, I didn't really need to :D

Just do 20 years of audio typing hun :)

I'm still faster on MSN though. :D

I spent 4 years as a chat host on Compuserve's UK Chat Forum. I could easily chat to four people at once and never did anyone complain I was taking too long to reply to them. Ahh the good old days when it cost £20 for 20 hours access a month then had to pay BT a penny a min as well. Internet access in those days for 28k dialup used to cost me around £100 a month on average. I always went well over the 20 hours and got charged extra for it by both compuserve and BT.

As if you didn't know - it's turkey

But hey, it goes down the same way - I loved my turkey year before last. We had duck last year
