I may have to consider a hotel room too, as I've got work at 10 the next morning ...

All help is merely my opinion only - please seek legal advice if you need to as I am only qualified in SEN law.

I think that was why the nice pub at the back of Oxford Street (behind Liberty's) was ruled out as well. At least with the Printworks its a Weatherspoons pub and you know what to expect with the prices - besides I have some vouchers we might be able to use there - there are some doing the rounds in my local one and I've snaffled some two for one meals etc....

u can actually get the vouchers on line will just find the link

The vouchers in the paper are free.... I will bring some with me as they are valid for various months up to the New Year, I think one is also for a bottle of Champers at a reduced rate, but you might have to have a meal for 4 with it...

I think I am going to have a busy couple of months leading up to Xmas, the two CAG meets, two work dos I know of (one is possibly ice-skating, and it's been decided to have a drink first, THEN ice-skate:eek:) plus a couple of family dos... younger brother's birthday bash (he'll be 44) and usual Boxing Day get-together - with the great-nephews and nieces there it will be another opportunity for the puppets to party!

I don't care where it is as long as I know in advance so I can sort out where to stay.

Thanks for the offer Sillygirl, but if I'm in London I'd rather stay there so I'm not restricted to times. As you know I'm a bit of a night owl.:D

I liked the Princess Louise which has had a massive refurb. Reviews show it's retained it's character and is still reasonably priced. Just a thought. Princess Louise, Holborn, London, WC1V 7BW - pub details # beerintheevening.com

I'm up or coming along too.

I like the idea of the Princess Louise, it's a nice old pub with a bit more character than the usual Wetherspoons, and a damn site easier to find than the printworks (which I tried to find last year and got lost) !!

Also it's more central, and better for transport for all, including those south of river, and allows for anyone coming into London for the day to then get along to much easier if they perhaps decide to come get into London earlier and get in some Xmas shopping during the day ?

Like this idea.

Would be great to meet you PM. It was being refurbished when we went last year, but the year before we had a party there after the OFT rally and had a great night. See what others think.

If character means unpleasant toilets, dingy surroundings, terrible cola drinks, yeah, you're right, it has character by the bucketload.

Jealous, moi? Nahhh.... I just wish I hadn't left my CAG sweatshirt behind. :-(

No doubt the toilet situation was improved during refurb lol, and the faded

grandeur is apparently now gleaming.

Its all been well documented but this is a pub worth a visit purely for the superb interior. A huge island bar, panelled walls with tiled inserts, a spectacular ceiling with a tiled frieze below, supported by decorative columns. The entrance step and side corridor have mosaic floors and the original snob screen dividers have been remade and replaced. Fantastic mirrors too. The place positively gleams as well. Superb and laudable restoration, other breweries please take note.

Oh, and Sam Smiths OBB at 1-86 a pint in this location!

And if you will drink cola without voddy or bacardi what do you expect!:p

No problems meeting there at all - we can either stay put or go on from there - I think you'll find though that it won't be that busy on a Friday night as a lot of pubs now are very quiet.

We can walk to Covent Garden from there or walk to Oxford Street or wherever.
