Advantis Credit Help please?

I've just received a text from these people with a reference number about a "urgent personal business matter". I called them up gave them the reference number and asked what it was in connection with, I refused to give my name and they refused to give me any more details. When I told them that they had to prove who I was before making contact he hung up on me!

 

Should I write them an email/letter saying p*** off and prove the debt first or should I just ignore the text. I would love to know where they've got my number from but they wouldn't even tell me that!!

They are fishing at the minute, if they have anything important to say they can do it in writing. Ignore until you get something by snail mail.

ok thanks Although if it is some form of debt I may owe I don't want it getting out of hand as I am slowly repairing my credit reference and its been a long slog!!!

Check your credit files to see if there has been search activity or a debt has changed hands.

Have had a look and can't see anything but am awaiting "approval" from Equifax and Noddle don't believe that I am me either so I only currently have access to Experian.

 

So much for Equifax being quick and easy to sign up for!!! Noddle don't give me any option to prove myself!!! Bit peeved about that too!!

Don't rely to much on the Noddle data, it's not always up to date.

I've just received a letter from these cretins, claiming I owe HM Revenue & Customs.

Now my dilemma is thus:

1. Do I file it in the fire, or

2. Do I file it in the shredder
