  3. She once told me off somewhat for being anti-social and not making the effort to get to a CAG meet in the Midlands!!
  4. Apparently, Lynda died suddenly on Sunday morning, I too found out today thanks to Facebook. Lynda, one of my many CAG Facebook friends was a colourful character, and her description of her activities was, God Bless you Lynda, taken too soon, like others we love and miss, but your pain and suffering is now over. R.I.P. "DMD" - Dave Buckley. xX :pray2:
  5. They've had ALL my licence and completed medical for two months and a day now, for the same reason, I've just got an email off them quoting 'exceptionally high workload', and that I'll get it back when I get it, so go away.......... It's not even been looked at yet, it's still in 'the queue'... I've had word from a former colleague today who's doing the same course, but they've had his licence for a month longer than they've had mine, he's had the same responses back that I have, and the operator told him that they've fallen another month behind on the current backlog and that he's looking at a minimum of 5 months before he gets it all back. He also added that he's had TWO job offers withdrawn because he couldn't prduce his licence, and the prospective employers wouldn't call DVLA to check his licence status. I'm about to start my own thread here Lexy which is why I came across this one...
  6. Scathing letter being prepared for Aldi..... Edit done, thank you....
  7. 90 minute overstay....... Single point appeal, GPEoL.
  8. There is no provision in the POFA for the drivers address to be within the UK. I have one at POPLA at the moment where the drivers address is in Canada. It's on Pepi-poo, Excel-driver in Canada. Same username as here..
  9. IMHO then, your only options now are to..... 1) pay up NOT!!! 2) Completely ignore from now on in, and ask your empolyer to pass ALL further letters to you directly to you and not even think about paying it. Option 2 means JUST that, the end........ It will go away, eventually... But you must hold your nerve. Good luck, Dave..
  10. YOUR NAME, YOUR ADDRESS, "Dear Sirs, I appeal the PCN No........ Because.............. Please cancel the charge, or issue a validation code for IAS." If you do neither, I will consider the matter closed, and no further correspondence will be entered into. Yours faithfully......................... 2nd class Signed for.... Stick a staple in the top left hand corner so it feels like a cheque is inside. Do it today.
  11. Get an appeal in, IN WRITING, BY RECORDED DELIVERY NOW, as the driver, with your name and address, stating they either cancel the charge, or send validation details for IAS, otherwise you'll still be here in two years time faffing with them, because they're NOT going to give in whatever you say, and each step will be ramped up a notch..... Welcome to the world of private parking extortion...... Once you've got a written rejection and IAS code we can help further, otherwise you're going 'round in circles forever more. I'm sorry if that sounds blunt, but that's the bottom line.
  12. Agree completely. Stop messing about with this and get an appeal in as the driver ASAP. This will of course be rejected, but it can then go to IAS or POPLA (whichever) where it can be killed of with the GPeOL submission. Take your employer/hire firm out of the loop.
  13. If byelaws apply, then it's "not relevant land" and POFA does not apply.
  14. Thus the owner Raykay, or the Lawful Authority... The land owner is neither..... On sight of the vehicle, the land owner had a legal duty to identify the vehicle owner and/or begin other legal removal steps.... The landowner is NOT entitled to remove the vehicle, let alone DISPOSE of it...!!!
  15. Isn't it an offence under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 to remove a vehicle from private land without lawful authority ? http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2012/9/section/54/enacted
  16. I've just had a read through this thread, and I've got to say that, if this was me being accused of theft in these circumstances, I'd be calling the police myself for my own protection. This might hold the inconvenience of an initial arrest and detention on suspicion of theft of property, but the police will more than likely seize all the evidence available and investigate professionally, their final findings on the evidence available will be VERY VERY DIFFICULT to detract from... And then, even if the company concerned are blindly going for a dismissal, a firm grounding for future Legal Action is well in place.... Good Luck & Best Wishes, Dave....... DMD..
