  5. So i should revived a cheque for the interest of £50? the rest they keep? Now as i had a valid claim but couldn't claim as pre existing condition should they not consider the claim and pay out?
  6. I realise that metro are part of HSBC. I took a loan out in 2001 for 6k in a HSBC branch PPI was included in the loan ( i didn't know it was) I had an accident at work which made an existing sports injury worse and was unable to work and ended up needing surgery. I went to the same branch I took the loan out to sort out how i was going to manage without an income. I was advised by the branch staff that I couldn't claim on the loan PPI as the injury was pre-existing. I then had to move home as I could not afford where I was staying and also changed banks. (13 years later) when I got a letter from HBBC saying I might have been miss sold PPI and fill in the form. It was sent to an old address and got forwarded to me. I filled in the form and got a reply which is a bit odd it just a calculation sheet saying: PPI premium redress xxxx, plus interest at 8% xxxxx, less basic rate tax xxxx , OFFER xxxx, less amount paid to metro xxxx NO REDRESS DUE The old loan would be statute barred now anyway. But can I get the PPI refund paid to me?
  7. Made a claim for PPI on an old loan form 2001. HSBC have sent a letter saying they paying refund to Metro Can they do this? Anything I can do to get the money paid to me?
  8. Hi Jack, Is this a residential or business line? Did you orginal sign up for a minimum term? the attachment is just a schedule of charges the T&C are online http://www.onebilltelecom.com/terms-conditions.aspx Do you have any of the original paperwork? Do you wish to disconnect the line permanently or transfer the service to a new provider?
  9. I had very good signal and really fast 3G internet signal for years it got a bit rocky when they did the network sharing as everything kept switch from one to the other and back then when it all became EE signal it sorted itself out but in May this year it went when they turned off the local mast and we now covered by one further away. So no indoor coverage and limited outdoor 2G coverage at home and my relatives address whom i'm career for (them have a mobile that alerts me should they fall etc) they have no signal at all indoor or out doors again that went in May this year.
  10. Well thats up to you depends what you want ..... if you want a quick resolution then phone maybe the best option then follow up by letter if you need to. Bearing in mind EE may take 4-8 weeks to reply to any written complaint and I suspect that they got quite a lot of them with their optimization leaving everyone everywhere without a signal. The person I spoke to said they are stretched as they are having major problems with every mast is taken off line reconfigured upgraded moved or removed for good, this process will take about a year or more to complete. My reply letter to my written complaint simply said to phone them so they can run through some diagnostics and check setting etc which I did and i'm still waiting for my signal box.
  11. Try giving them a call and get through to the technical people ( from 150 options 1 phone; 4 tech sup; 1 phone sup) they may try to go through network setting ... just say you done that before and it's still a problem and ask to get through to networks as its due to the optimization. They are the ones who hold the power to offer the options Its basicly what the letter from EE said in reply to my complaint. If you get on the list for a signal box it may take months to arrive though.
  12. I write to EE in june got a reply in July re network optimization (or turning off masks in plain english) I then phoned them up as same issue as you at home and work and they put me on the list for a signal booster back in August but they were out of stock/short supply phoned them up last week as still no signal box. They said they have stock now and they working through the backlog and I got 50% line discount till box arrives... so far 50% for aug sept and hopefully Oct. I was given the option to cancel my contract.

    comet insurance

This was posted on another thread Comets warranties were underwritten by The Warranty Group who will still have a responsibility to customers irrespective of Comet going into administration. Their website; http://uk.thewg.com/product-warranti...cal/index.html
  14. Surely the photos and till receipt from the supermarket would suggest otherwise? Is the other driving suggesting your reversed into them?
  15. I've spoken to LA they say person who needs to resolve this is away for 2 weeks so they cant do anything until they return. I asked for the supervisor and that is the supervisor so they wont stop deductions from my ESA until they return....
  16. Which I've done and they dispute they revived the payment .... they now demanding full payment which I refused ... so they taking it out of my Employment and Support Allowance ... which I can't stop
  17. In 1998 I rented a property on a short tenancy of 6 months. I moved out in Jan 1999. I received a letter saying CT was owed and paid it (approx £287) by bank transfer ( I always paid that way). I heard no more until 2007 when they started chasing payment of CT owed I contacted council to find out what was going on as my new property account was up-to date. This is when I found out it was for the old property. Council claim not to receive the bank transfer made in Feb 1999 and proceeded with a liability order and then bailiff to trace me. The CT Bill was for the time I moved in in 1998 till April 1999 (9 months) even though I had moved out in Jan and had paid the full bill till April 1999 by bank transfer. I went to a meeting with council and had my tenancy papers and bank statement showing payment. They agreed to amend the bill to when I moved out. Remove any charges and look into the missing payment. They came back saying its so long ago they cant trace anything or find the payment on their records and I'm liable to pay the arrears as they have a liability order. Nothing more happened until now ... (5 years on) The Council still claim not to have received the payment and are now taking the money they say is owed from my ESA (£5 a week) without any notice or contact with myself. This has meant my ESA that went into my bank was less then I was expecting causing me financial problems. It may only be £10 but that not the point and means my budging is out the window.:mad2: Any suggestions on what to do next? As far as I can see I overpaid by 3 months (Jan to Mar '99) and now having to pay again...
  18. that just adds to it not being fit for purpose
  19. Sales of goods Act states that goods must be fit for purpose and of reasonable quality. It sounds like the keyboard is neither if after 2 months its falling apart. Did you specify what the laptop would be used for prior to purchase - this would then also be covered. Basally Comet should replace the laptop with a new one under Sales of Goods Act - nothing to do with what's hardware and what's not hardware - It is the seller, not the manufacturer, who is responsible if goods do not conform to contract. You have the right to reject the goods with a reasonable time frame take a loot at http://www.oft.gov.uk/business-advice/treating-customers-fairly/sogahome/ http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/+/berr.gov.uk/whatwedo/consumers/fact-sheets/page38311.html Go back to Comet and speak to a manager and demand a new one - if you got a USB keyboard use that so you can use the laptop to make sure you back up your data and remove anything as you might not get a chance to when they replace it. They may then try to offer you a free repair its up to you which you prefer a repair or replacement - don't let Comet push you into a repair if that's not what you want.
  20. Legal aid is no longer available for most (95%) of civil matters regardless of your income or benefits you receive.
  21. I said the the revenue collections when i phoned that I would be attending the summons to which thy said I wont get to see the magistrate only them .. they tried to dis-swayed me from attending ... I i have truecall so its all recorded ... I'm sure that's grounds for appeal - right to fair trail etc Anyway complaint letter sent via e-mail to all departments plus CEO who has acknowledged receipt. So now its wait till summons day and see if they do anything before if not its off to see the magistrate and complaint to LGO. If they fail to get liability order I will ask for my costs to attend from the council.... what do you reckon my chances are?
