  1. Got a response from them today. Same four non-specific rejection points from last letter they sent. They have not provided any screen shots etc as I requested so guess they don't have any! Has anyone experience of EGG complaints going through FOS?
  2. Can one of the Mods put this in the Won section. They won't admit liability but will pay as goodwill gesture so £1158 coming my way! Yay. Definite donation once it's in the bank!
  3. I received a CPP letter today too. I quite like the idea that we can all rock up at the general meeting/court
  4. Well ten days ago I sent a letter to Egg requesting they reply to my queries in my previous letter and giving them today as a deadline to reply. I know they received my previous letter as my SAR had arrived in the interim period and it clearly states I have been in contact asking for screenshots after getting their final response (standard rejection). So I guess it is off to the Ombudsman for me(or Court - depends how feisty i feel). Will it reflect poorly on Egg that they have not even acknowledged my two letters trying to resolve this 'complaint'?
  5. I haven't put any posts up about Capital One but I have a letter today confirming my PPI complaint has been upheld and the refund will be applied to my account (which is defaulted and paid through StepChange). It's not a huge amount - just under £100 but it all helps! I have found them one of the more straighforward companies to deal with! Am rather chuffed
  6. Thank you for the info. So I am using an average of overall interest rates for the period interest was being charged on the account BUT from the period interest stopped being charged due to dmp (even though I still pay the creditor a sum each month so the account technically is 'live' )I cannot apply any interest rate? Hoping I have that right. I have overlimit charges due to ppi being applied to my account - is it ok to put those on the same spreadsheet?
  7. Am trying to keep all my postings in right place. Recieved SAR which appears to include my signature on credit agreement and looks proper to my untrained eye. I obtained my SAR in order to look at PPI reclaim I have going through. RBS have written to me asking questions about the PPI:- What do I recall about the sale of PPI? Why did i believe it was not optional? I'm not sure how to answer these. My credit card application was online and in my SAR there is nothing about ppi other than it appearing on my statements. Is this normal? I didn't ask for it, nor was it offered, so to me that makes it obligatory. Do you think I need to say more than this? They seem like 'fishing' questions. It's stuff that I put on the initial claim form anyway!
  8. Morning, Thanks for your reply. I have all my statements and no interest was charged in any way for the first 6 months. I forgot to add all interest was frozen when i went into a dmp in late 2009 so does that impact upon the calculations?
  9. Hello all, I'm trying to get my head round how to apply interest to the PPI / fees claim I have underway so that I can send in an schedule of charges when I reply to a couple of queries they have written to me about. I am endeavouring to use one lifted from CAG. I'm just a bit confused about the following a) for the first year I had the creditcard it was interest free - so what interest rate do I use, if any? b) this amount remained part of the total so how do i account for that? c) do i do a seperate sheet for each time the interest rate increased? All help gratefully received.
  10. Thank-you. I know I've gone about things cack-handed at the beginning but I am slowly getting everything in order. I appreciate the advice.
  11. Yes - I totally agree. It's all new to me and I am trying to be more methodical and organized now. I know it's retrospective but I have to work with that now. My inclination is to wait for the remainder of the sar from one and all of it from another. I'm not sure whether me holding off replying for a couple of weeks will be an issue overall.
  12. I have not used my medical condition as main reason for mis-selling, but I have said that I am now aware PPI tends to have exclusions and that as I was never made aware of this (in that no-one ever discussed PPI with me re it's scope or limitations) I do not believe it would have paid out. Does that make sense?
  13. Hi, Have received letters from both of these creditors today asking very similar questions i.e what do I recall about the sale, my recollection of what the sales material said about my medical condition, why i believed the insurance was not optional, when my medical condition was diagnosed and what is my understanding of how this condition would affect a claim. I'm still waiting for additional info from one of them as they only sent a partial sar (just statements) and the other one hasn't sent anything at all yet. They both say they won't be able to investigate my claim further until they have answers to these questions. Do I just wait for the SAR info and take it from there? The only thing I can say with any certainty is that i can confirm when my medical condition started. Any ideas?
  14. How bizarre! I'm trying not to get paranoid... ...in one day I have had phone calls from two credit cards about my ppi claims! The one who was going to ring back after 5pm never bothered. Tut tut! Another one rang just before 8pm. Once again a very nice bloke...wanted to know what i remembered about opening the account. I replied that questions like that needed to be put in writing, which he said he'd do. He them implied that as the 8 weeks was up in 3 weeks time it was down to me..... How naughty! Strikes me as odd having two phone calls on one day!
  15. Apologies - I'm still trying to get used to where certain things go i.e other institutions or Egg, or PPI or RBS and whether different queries need different headings/entries. Quite happy for them to be put in the right place
  16. Hi, Thanks DX - I am sure I remembered reading that on another post but couldn't re-find it. Will be as nice to the chap (and he was a very friendsly chap but I know when people are trying to disarm me) as he was to me but will request everything in writing in case it is not found in my favourand then we both have an indisputable paper trail for FOS or Court. hx
  17. Hi all, One of the credit card companies I am claiming from has rung today and will be calling back after 5pm to discuss my PPI claim. Is this normal? Is there anything I should be careful of? I don't have the facilities to record the call so should I just find out what they want and then ask them to put in writing? It's an account I have had from 2006 but I am still waiting for my additional SAR info (as they only sent me through copy statements and nothing else) so i don't want to be caught on the hop. Hx
  18. Well I've just rung Egg (in their current guise) and apparently they can't tell me if my letter is being acted upon as is doesn't have a telephone number and the woman I spoke to couldn't help. I asked whether it was standard procedure not to send an acknowledgement out and she said 'they' normally do but couldn't offer any further advice other than I'd have to chase them by letter. Helpful....
  19. I am not sure whether I am being dim or just plain inept but i can't seem to track down who the European head honcho is for EGG / Canada Square. Anyone have any ideas?
  20. Yes, but no screen shots in with it. Think out of courtesy (and the fact that it may show greater reasonableness on my part with FOS or court) i will send them a chase up letter (maybe even to their CEO too) and see if that elicits any response.
  21. Thanks for the quick response. I am asking for screen shots to verify point 3 of their bog standard rejection - that being that the online sales process at that time required me to 'positively confirm that i wished to purchase this policy during the online application'. I have asked for screen shots to confirm that i actually ticked a box rather than not 'un-ticking' a pre-ticked box,and i have asked for proof that i read the terms and conditions of the policy (point 4 of the rejection being that online sales requested you read t&cs before submitting). In my response I have asserted that a pre-ticked box is very much akin to 'advising' that a product be taken out - my rather rudimentary rebuttal on point 2 of the rejection. Whilst I doubted they would change their mind I am surprised at the lack of acknowledgement.
  22. Hi, Just a general query. If you have been sent a rejection final response letter and you have sent a letter back asking for proof of certain things to substantiate their position (or if they can't then refund the ppi etc please) are the compies under any obligation to: a) acknowledge your letter? b) provide the proof you require within a given timeframe? Hx
  23. Barclaycard did not send me an acknowledgement -I chased it up by phone two weeks after submission and got a real run around as I couldn't give them a claim number as I did not have an acknowledgement letter....fun eh!
  24. I know But it's only the dcas that don't have the right paperwork I'm talking about. Who is failure to comply reportable to in the case of cca and CPUTR?
