  1. and before everyone starts ripping into HandCock about the telegraph 'leaks', it should be stated that handcocks spokesperson has said that all responses are being considered * another bushtucker trial * crying * threatening legal action * continuing lying ... all options including all of the above - lying, crying and threatening while the 'cock eats more fried kangaroo testicles - a real cock and ball story
  2. One of the respondents in oaksh*ts thread I think She of course seems to be simply trying to claim lockdowns were wrong - rather than the actual facts that the methods and requirements of the implementations were mismanaged and incompetent, and that prior failures made the requirements more urgent. (as detailed in the closed mutating virus thread) Shes even spinning the leak Jacob Rees-Mogg had a Covid test for one of his children couriered to his home by health officials at a time when there was a testing shortage. An initial test for one of Mr Rees-Mogg’s children had been lost by the laboratory, prompting Matt Hancock’s special adviser to organise a courier to deliver a new test that night, wait for the child to take the new test, and then take it directly to the laboratory. Two days before the test was personally delivered to the Rees-Mogg family home, the director of testing at NHS Test and Trace had been forced to issue her “heartfelt apologies to anyone who cannot get a Covid test at present”. Reports at the time suggested a backlog of 185,000 tests waiting to be processed on September 11 2020, the day after the test was couriered to Mr Rees-Mogg, who at the time was Leader of the Commons. Hancock adviser arranged personal test for Jacob Rees-Mogg's child at time of massive shortage WWW.TELEGRAPH.CO.UK The test was sent by courier to the MP's home, and then straight to a lab
  3. Quote of the decade and undoubtedly at least in a large part - true Actual conspiracy's are in the smaller parts. "just a series of cock-ups made by people of limited intelligence desperate to shore up their own positions. A clown show, not a conspiracy"
  4. Much of that is spin on facts, as expected, but quite mild for Frosty the tosspot - A smidgen of that mildness will be because its the Times, but seems to me the dogs have been loosed on the Johnsonites and hard line Brexiters The reality of course is that all this 'new' stuff is just largely what was expected as the result o Brexit at the time, including a NI assembly veto on new EU laws (alongside loosing the access associated with rejecting any) which would always have been one of the EU concessions. That is wasn't implemented 2 years ago is simply * It demonstrates all the Brexit lies * Johnson would have to have implemented some some competently and effectively - a nonsensical requirement.
  5. Thing is - its the only place even approaching the cake and eat it claims of Brexit .. benefits of all the EU trade deals and the EU market ... and the UK ones Australian/US firm brought the UK battery factory option haven't they - and targetting battery storage rather than electric transport .. Yaayy gb err AUS/US
  6. BP, Shell .. Buying forward from themselves ... or more accurately, UK energy systems buying forward from BP, Shell etc energy trading arms whos trading arms buy it from their other parts at massive markups so the profits are in trading companies rather than the original extracting main companies who claim tax relief losses
  7. Changed his hard Brexit tune somewhat? Perhaps? and regarding the in principle agreement being called the Windsor protocol theres still * passing it in the UK parliament (pretty much certain with labours support) * A bunch of incompetents Implementing the processes * A bunch of self serving liars Honoring it https://commission.europa.eu/system/files/2023-02/political declaration.pdf
  8. So, can someone explain to me why Wholesale energy prices are at their lowest for 18 months, and given the energy companies have made obscene record profits from selling less gas/energy .. the price 'cap - surely that should be called price allowance - in the UK is still so high? Seems the UK regulator is nothing more than an excuse for energy companies to rip us off?
  9. and NOTHING in the 'windsor protocol addresses the real world trade issues with our (ex) largest partner, or that Poland now out from under the UKs shadow in the EU is becoming a real power in teh EU with growth thats trashing the UK I also find it interesting that a party who are refusing to do their elected job in the NI assembly, Not only still get pay and expenses, but still get on official voice in westminster and especially that pretty much everyone is trashing corrupt liar Johnsons NI protocol that the vast majority of them not only voted to force through, but cheered on ..
  10. .. Would have ensured there was very clear daylight between the protocol and the hosting of a world leader Absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the 'windsor' protocol stuff and any implication that Charles is involved in the politics other than as a host is purely from Sunacks team ... and the various political protagonists eg DUP. Steve Baker is one to watch.
  11. I think the whole setup is a crock Sunack 'advises aka requires palace to do this while trying to brief its a palace decision .. Of course the new King should host world leaders who visit - but the rhetoric around this is a crock. Perhaps trying to deflect from the content .. whatever that is
  12. Breaking News Rishi Sunacks government awards £150,000,000 contract to alleviate fruit and veg shortage Its believed that a guvernment ministers local pub landlord was awarded the contract without competition under emergency laws. The two crates of peppers and two crates of tomatoes is expected to be delivered directly to the parliamentary subsidised canteen immediately the un-named pub landlord returns from his weekend in Calais. 'Absolute bargain for the taxpayer' was reported as the answer to questions asked 'with the additional benefit to UK taxpayers of the costs and administration of processing the funds covered by a Bahamas holding company'
  13. makes the UKs fenced off wasteland 'lorry parks' as 'preparation' look a bit ... whats the words poopulist? Brexitish? Inane? Monstrously and stupidly Inadequate? ...
  14. Anyway, enough of this doom and gloom and problems in NI, lets look at some Brexit benefits driving growth jobs co-operation and investment ... For French and RoI ports "For decades, the cheapest and fastest way to move goods between Ireland and the continent was the so-called “land bridge” via Britain and the Dover-Calais crossing. Brexit’s double whammy of customs checks and delays has hugely increased both costs and uncertainty, prompting businesses to bypass the UK. The consequences for the two ports have been spectacular. Given a chance by Brexit to persuade traders that the longer sea crossing between Ireland and mainland Europe was now viable, Cherbourg and Rosslare have seized it with both hands. Before the UK left the EU, Rosslare Europort was an underused facility with just six sailings a week to the continent, all into Cherbourg. Now it has 30-plus, to Cherbourg, Le Havre, Bilbao, Dunkirk and Zeebrugge – a fivefold increase that has led to record overall freight traffic" "The surge in continental traffic has created more than 200 new jobs around Rosslare port – which is operated by the state-owned Irish Rail – and boosted the entire region, Carr said. “And the port is the engine driver for the south-east,” he added. Investment in and around Rosslare is surging. The port itself has launched an ambitious expansion and overhaul programme – including new access roads, deepening the harbour, automation, digitalisation, and offshore wind energy" "Cherbourg, too, is expanding and upgrading both passenger and freight facilities. A new rail freight link is scheduled to open next year with Bayonne in south-west France, boosting traffic transiting between Spain, Portugal and Ireland via the Normandy port by an estimated 20,000 units a year." ‘Brits are suffering but for us it’s boom time’: how Brexit boosted French and Irish ports | Brexit | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM The cheapest way from Ireland to Europe used to be via Dover. But now Cherbourg and Rosslare are thriving
  15. So, given the poopulists and Sunacks rhetoric about leading the world in support of Ukraine, When is the UK going to lead the way and sanction India over its sanction busting trade with Russia? (being as the UKs proposed trade deal with India aint worth squat, just like the Australian one)
  16. Whats 'a reasonable amount' Example 10,000 peppers v 20,000 shoppers for peppers - rationing prevents the first 10 just grabbing all thats available and perhaps trying to sell them on fruit and veg ebay or their own market stall at 3x the price - as happened with toilet rolls - even then theres still not enough - but it is unquestionably 'fairer to the supermarkets customers
  17. I call this the coffee plebiscite special. Feeds a family of 4. Take one turnip, chop it, boil it. Eat it. If you cant afford heating, Take one Turnip, chop it and eat it raw The rationing is due to low availability in the UK, not because someones bought all the UK stock and bought 3 fridges and a chilled container or 10 to keep them in. Think of your peppers and tomatoes as limited editions of a Ferrari - the people who can afford it and want it will have it shipped in specially from abroad (presumably if they have the right customs declarations) - abroad there is loads of fruit and veg ... if not special edition Ferrari's ... . You can replace Ferrari's with limited edition perfume if that suites your metaphor better.
  18. As over fed, over weight, and over paid Coffee tells OTHERS to eat turnips to work around her and the poopulists abysmal failures (she seems to be treating herself to plenty of cake) ‘Let them eat turnips’: Tory minister wades in on how to ease supermarket shortages WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK Environment secretary says shortages should be resolved in two to four weeks Sadiq Khan feeds hungry kids benefiting 270,000 children - and our future London to offer free school meals to all primary pupils for a year | School meals | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Exclusive: Sadiq Khan’s plan, spurred by ministers’ ‘failure to act’, will save families about £440 for every child I think that defines the differences between the parties rather well
  19. Tell you what, lets do a little sanity check on the 'green lane' proposal ... * Wasn't one of the solutions to the whole border issue a technical solution ... waaaaaayyyy back? Hows the systems going to support that years in? .. well other than lorry parks until loads of lorries stopped coming and going which just reduced the load and the business * Whats been done to implement the ground work for the systems to support a green lane customs channel? - They haven't even got their own parties support for it let alone got anything actually done - quite the opposite 2 similar proposals ... 2 similar results - Loads of spin - Sweet FA done Background reading https://www.aseanbriefing.com/news/the-guide-to-import-and-export-procedures-in-singapore/
  20. LOL circular logic HB Thats why there is such a poor export market - and no real change in sight aka if they agree a deal that they dont renege on .. including safty measures for the 'other party'that the UK wont simply decide to unilaterally revoke the parts of whatever they agrree to that they dont like ... as you point out: aka We have another wicked wheeze that means if we simply say heres a deal, but that we dont have to or intend to honor nobody will notice and we'll get all we want because its such a wicked wheeze bunter The real issue is has Sunack got the gonads to press through his 'whatever' without a vote ... and how long would it last if he did. Starmer had the gonads to get rid of Corbyn, Sunack doen't have the gonads to get rid of Johnson and Truss, let alone handbag the ERG Wheres the wicked witch and the biggest pair of Gonads the Tory party has ever had when you need her? Somebody hold a seance and release her from hades for a night ... that should do it.
