  1. Yes it is... £12.95 per month out of her bank account via Direct Debit. When speaking to them they had no REAL security checks in place and no history of any 'winnings' on my mums account history!
  2. Evening All.... Wondered if somebody could point me in the right direction? Mum passed away last Thursday after a fighting Cancer We've since found out that she has an account with ACE Catalogue and also a rolling subscription to a service via 24 Win - apparently 24 Win charge(d) my mum £12.95 a month to be entered into online competitions?!? We contacted them and we're advised that mum was to wait for the postman to deliver her prize "if" she won!! No record of any wins or any other details!! They've been having £13 a month off her since 2007!! Im assuming the FOS would not be interested? or am I best going straight to Trading Standards? Regards
  3. Good Luck..... I started a thread many years ago about Endeavour / Freedom Finance and Bespoke Finance (all had a finger in my initial loan - 10K from 2014 + £1.5K PPI added) I had an entry on my Credit File c/o HSBC but they deny all knowledge of having any details etc.... the amount quoted on my Credit file is £11.5K so from that THEY should be held responsible in my opinion! http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?200249-Endeavour-Loans-amp-PPI&p=4664844#post4664844 "Good Luck"
  4. Just an update..... Heard nothing from them, apart from the gym contacting me asking if they could "Tempt me back"
  5. Received a reply back from HSBC yesterday to say they couldn't find any details.... which I was expecting as the loan was via EPF and not HSBC direct.... Now obviously there is a record.... as it is noted on my Credit Reports (see below) - £10K loan & £1550 PPI (one off payment?!?) I know im clutching at straws but I REFUSE to back down whilst I know this money was paid..... I shall send a copy of the above back to them to prove that there IS a record and again shall cross my fingers
  6. Im back..... and I have the bone well and truly in my mouth ready to go "again" Upon inspecting a recent copy of my credit report, I stumbled across an entry added by HSBC?!? for £11250+!!! Now my issue is this.... I have NEVER had any dealings with HSBC, never had a loan via HSBC or applied for a loan via HSBC, I can only assume that this entry is for my Endeavour Loan (part of HFC) who in turn are (were) a sub division of HSBC. Now my question is this - IF HSBC have (had) nothing to do with my loan and the PPI, why is there an entry on my file telling me differently?! The amount shown is obviously my initial 10K loan (plus PPI?), am I right in assuming that this money was "lent" via the ONE source rather than the "3rd Party" as always claimed? Ive now sent off my reclaim forms to HSBC.... I'm expecting a letter back to say its nowt to do with them but my argument is.... why is this entry on my file, if its nothing to do with them?!? I know I'm probably clutching at straws but why would an HSBC entry be on my Credit File?!? and does the entry (with the recorded amount make them liable for my 5 years of wasted time!!) Wish me luck....
  7. Morning All, Apologies in the delay in replying to the thread, my other half was taken ill a few weeks ago (with heart failure) so wasting my time on these imbeciles was last on my list. I did ring the gym and ask about paying the £29.97 and explained I was not going to pay CRS, they didnt want to know..... Ive had one or two letters of CRS and a couple of txts (which I have ignored), I now have a company called Zinc chasing me for the same "debt". They emailed me last Thursday, I replied explaining the situation and gave them 7 days to accept my £29.97. They rang me this morning to discuss the account.... told them that I WOULD NOT be paying unlawful charges, they advised they would pass back to their client. I also advised Zinc that any further correspondence will be replied to and I will be charging for my time and stationary..... at £20 per letter (email)
  8. Well Ive decided to take my concerns to the FOS.... Im assuming they'll reply with the "tough, you took out the loans etc..." line but I made a point of highlighting that as per my credit card, I have ONE account with Wonga which realistically should reduce the amount of multiple entries, plus I have highlighted that their false claim of "improving my credit chances" has crippled any chance of me remortgaging my property (I have not missed 1 payment of my mortgage in 10 years but my current lender still wont touch me because of the PDL entries) I shall keep you updated with the response.
  9. slick, Apologies in the delay in replying.... I'm extremely tempted to call into the gym and offer to pay the £29.97 but i have a feeling they will insist I go via CRS (as they did the previous time I contacted them)... Just a quick question, CRS keep referring to me signing a contract, which I haven't... I'm assuming signatures happen on the first visit to the gym (I have never set foot in the building) with that in mind can I assume that I haven't signed any form of contract and if thats the case no written contract exists? Again, cheers for your input
  10. Afternoon All, Any update in regards to addressing the PDL entries on a Credit File? Again, I am one of these who couldnt get a loan via mainstream as my credit file was shot (about 5 years ago) and found myself near on every month topping up my wages with a PDL and promptually paying it back once my salary went into the bank (I have ALWAYS paid when required, no missed payments at all). The nice little puppets made the promise that it would "help" my credit.... guess what it hasn't, if anything it is the ONLY thing dragging me to my knees Im now 2/5 on noddle and EVERY other account is upto date with no missed payments. I did complain to Wonga who sent we the usual response and added the following quote to their reply (this was last year) "“as long as you repay the payday loan on time and in full then any effect on your credit rating is likely to be positive. When lenders check your credit report they are looking for evidence that you are a responsible customer. Repaying a payday loan on time and in full should therefore strengthen your case, because many payday providers are now sharing credit data. Saying that, some high street lenders might see the fact that you’ve resorted to payday credit as a sign that your finances are under pressure. Importantly, lenders’ scoring systems are built by modelling actual customer data. As a result, if a particular lender’s experience is that customers who take out payday loans are more likely to miss their repayments, this will be reflected in their credit scoring. Actually, some of the lenders that use Experian for credit checks don’t currently differentiate between payday and other types of loans, so they wouldn’t be able to discriminate anyway. So if you do take out a payday loan, just concentrate on paying it back on time and you shouldn’t hopefully have any problems”. " HELP..... :-/
  11. OK.... further update. Heard nothing from anybody within the 14 day timescale, received an email from the gym on the 29th (see below) Good morning, It has come to our attention that there is a problem with your membership and it has been passed to Harlands/CRS. This means there is missed payments on your account and if its not sorted you could build a substantial amount of charges. . If you could give us a ring on XXXXXXXXXXX or come to the gym to see us we will resolve this for you. I sent them a copy of the email I sent to CRS on the 14th August. Then on the 3rd Sept I received a telephone call (message left) and promptly afterwards the following email... Re: CRS Ref No: Xxxxx / Xercise 4 Less Ref No: xxxxxx Further to your recent e-mail regarding your account balance. Please contact CRS directly on 01444 449165 to discuss your account within the next 10 days. A suitable resolution can be organised. Yours sincerely, Do I ignore? Or Contact the gym to pay?
  12. No that was their response to the email I sent in post #1 I shall await their response from post #6 and keep you informed. Thanks
  13. Email is on route (with read receipt request) saves on the postage Ill keep you updated.... slick, realised it was one of your template letters I used in my initial email "thankyou"
  14. The Gym wont discuss the account with me.... I've offered to pay the £29.97 direct with the possibility of reinstating the membership (even with the personal issue, which is "slowly" getting resolved) but they dont want to know unless I make the payment of £90+ (Im assuming they are all under the same umbrella? Harlands / CRS & X4L?)
  15. Ive searched, found info, followed up and had a response from CRS telling me that due to the fact the have to pay for envelopes and lights etc, their £60 charges for chasing a "debt" are fair... My Story - Signed up for a membership at X4L last August (I thought sooner but not apparently), cancelled my DD as I "thought" Id paid up my 12 months and have been contacted to say I had cancelled 3 months before the end of my contract. I have contacted the gym directly who have told me they tried to contact me via telephone (no longer have the PAYG number) and that the issue had been passed onto CRS. I have emailed the following to CRS / X4L Head Office and also my local X4L Dear Sirs, I will pay the final 3 month's fee of £29.97 due for the last 3 months of my contract, but I will not pay your unenforceable unlawful penalty charges. Once you agree IN WRITING to accept the £29.97 in full settlement of all that I owe for the gym membership, I will pay it off within 2 weeks (14 days) of your acknowledgment. My offer stands for 14 days only (from 4th August 2014) after which it will be withdrawn. If you fail to accept my offer or you demand any amounts in excess of £29.97, I will pay you nothing. - Thankyou to whoever it was who posted the above on CAG They've replied and given me 7 days to pay a reduced payment of £96.47 and they'll bugger off and leave me alone. Now, what would be the best thing to do... reply and insist I aren't paying the £60+ charges they say "we concede that the cost of the paper, envelope and franking of the default letters does not make up the entirety of the rest of the sum, however, as a business they have to pay overheads for staff wages, whose employment would not otherwise be required if it were not for the missed or returned payments and furthermore pay overheads for office space and increased usage of utilities, equipment, furniture and stationary to accommodate these staff and the processes involved with the administration involved with missed or returned payments, costing hundreds of thousands of pounds every year." Annoyingly, due to a "personal issue" (finding out a long lost family member uses the gym) I haven't even set foot into the place so they've had 9 months payments off me for begger'all :mad2:
  16. Is it 14 "Working" days though?! Poor girl.... and more annoyingly, how the hell can these folks refuse to pay back a grand for doing NOTHING.... she hasnt even filled in any forms, just signed a contract. Maybe a call to trading standards to see if they can offer anything?
  17. She has just sent me a copy of the "Service Agreement" which states.... 7 - Should I cancel MY participation in the ‘Get It All’ program more than 28 days prior to MY arrival, a cancellation fee of £670 applies and I can only apply for a refund of £325 in the form of a Travel Credit from GWAT. Should I cancel MY participation in the ‘Get A Lot’ program more than 28 days prior to MY arrival, a cancellation fee of £495 applies and I can only apply for a refund of £300 in the form of a Travel Credit from GWAT. Should I cancel MY participation in the ‘Get Started’ program, the cancellation fee is 100% of the program cost. Should I cancel MY participation in any program after receiving a job opportunity, or within 28 days of arrival, a cancellation fee of 100% of the program cost applies. All other payments made to GWAT over and above the listed program cost, such as airfares and travel insurance, can only be transferred into a Travel Credit to be used towards other travel products and services offered by GWAT, subject to applicable cancellation fees at time of cancelling.
  18. The Bank wont help because - "she doesn't have a valid reason" (I can see where shes coming from though, the reviews aren't too complimentary) She signed up on the 10th June and paid her deposit - £295.... last payment of £690 taken on the 17th June. She decided against the idea on Wednesday and made contact, told them it was due to personal reasons. Sounds like they are trying to pull a fast one to me...... initially she made contact via telephone, I have advised her ALL correspondence is to be done via email or letter, she sent an email yesterday to confirm the cancellation so she had it in writing.
  19. She paid via Debit Card.... I mentioned about a charge back but the bank are reluctant to help. Basically advised her to contact Global Direct (hence the offer of £325)
  20. Morning All, Hopeful somebody could offer assistance.... A "Friend" of mine has decided she wants to follow her dream of travelling and working abroad, only issue with this is... she's now changed her mind, unfortunately she has paid the aforementioned company £1000 for the privilege The company offer a service of sorting out the paperwork and guaranteeing a job on her arrival in Australia, again she has looked into the company AFTER signing a contract and paying out money, seen that the reviews arent so wonderful and is struggling to make a claim for a refund. The website states (section 19 on the FAQ Section) that "We understand that unexpected things may happen! Therefore we offer you a lot of flexibility. However, the actual deposits are non-refundable. If you find yourself suddenly unable to travel, we are able to change your dates and you can keep your deposit as a credit for 10 years!" They have advised her that they will only pay back £325?!?! Anybody advise?!? Obviously she understands she'll lose her paid deposit "£275" but to only offer her £325 is £350 less than she should get back.... Regards
  21. Morning All, To cut a long story short, my fiancee (and mother of my 2 young children) informed me on Friday that she is struggling, behind on 3 (or 4) credit accounts, no way to catch up and is finding that daily calls have pushed her to the point of admitting she has issues financially.... She has given me a figure of approx £13K (all unsecured) We live together and ALL Household bills (except the gas) are in my name, including the mortgage. I am finally "just about" on top of my credit and have consolidated to a manageable point, obviously I am concerned that due to her excessive spending (which I had NO idea about), I'm obviously going to find myself in abit of a conundrum... I have advised her FIRST AND FOREMOST, to contact each creditor to see what "in-house" procedures they have in place, obviously if they arent forthcoming with assistance how concerned should I be about her taking out an IVA and "How" will it bring me to my knees?!? Any help or advice would be MASSIVELY appreciated
  22. Sorry in the delay... only just remembered my password to get back onto CAG lol No nothing... no acknowledgement or anything
  23. I have just emailed FSCS, lets see what happens now
  24. I emailed Freedom.... this was the reply... Thank you for your email. Moneio Limited has purchased the brand and website Freedom Finance in 2010 from Wilmslow Financial Services Limited (which was formerly Freedom Finance Plc). Moneio Limited has never sold PPI insurance. Unfortunately we understand that Wilmslow Financial Services Ltd is in administration and therefore all complaints are to be referred to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). We have contacted the administrator to confirm this and they have provided the FSCS’s contact details as follows: Financial Services Compensation Scheme 7th Floor, Lloyds Chambers 1 Portsoken Street London, E1 8BN Telephone: 0800 678 1100 or 0207 741 4100 Fax: 020 7741 4101 We are sorry that we are unable to help further but wish you every success with your complaint. Yours sincerely Complaints Am I flogging a dead horse?!?
