  1. The people conducting these reviews are human and do undertand if information is correct, especially in the current climate, and will work with you to rectify the situation - if any rectification is required. Be pleasant and honest as it helps them to help you.
  2. Your best route is through the compaints team for non-barclays customers. The link is here: https://www.barclays.co.uk/help/contact-us/complaints/Non-Barclays-customer/ It has the details for all of their contact methods - no email address though.
  3. It really depends on your issue. There are multiple departments within Barclays so no general email address. Have you spoken to customer services first as they should be able to direct your issue and provide an email address.
  4. With regards to the tax. I'm sure I read somewhere that even though you pay nil tax, you still need to apply/renew it every year.
  5. The hospital may send an copy of the discharge directly to the registered GP, mine does. But, yes, the patient should have been given a discharge letter.
  6. I agree with what's been said above. Just to add, if they didn't carry out the work straight away, they would have recorded the failure and issued you with the failure notice. Boris
  7. Can you double check your dates as my calendar says that February is before march. Did you get the notice in March 2018 with the alleged date of the infringment February 2018?
  8. This was quite prevalent in the US known as the IRS scam where there was an arrest warrant if you didn't pay there and then. It gradually moved to to UK. I know you've been caught out, an elderly friend of mine also got scammed this way, but this is a warning to everyone - please spread the word. Plenty of video's on youtube, even scammers calling police officers at their place of work.
  9. Oh dear. The HMRC will never ring you - they will always write to you. Never ever go on a conferance call as they can control your phone once connected, to make the scam appear real.
  10. Just waiting for their response. Aparantly, I have to wait 48 hours before Amazon will do anything
  11. Ordered via Amazon but sent direct from the supplier. I suspect it was damaged in transit. It's a metal post box and the casting at the top has a crack in the corner rendering it not weather proof.
  12. I ordered an item from Amazon, which was £24. When it arrived, I noticed it was broken and requested a return. Got the return label, but when I went to the post office, they said I had to pay. Cheapest was £13. Once I picked my jaw off the floor. I decided not to post it back at this time. What are my rights regarding this. I'm not willing to write off £13 for something that a paid £24 for!
  13. It's a scam - mark it as junk and ignore it.
  14. Glad to hear it. Make sure you get you UC application started as soon as you can. You see, they aren't all ogres!
  15. Please don't panic. I've had several compliance checks in the past. The people carrying out these are human as well and, as long as you are honest with them, it shouldn't be stressful and you may find that the world on your shoulders has moved off - a form of relief. Mine were about the make up my household and the benefits I was then claiming. With regards to interview under caution, this will only happen if the HRMC, or other organisations, feel that the subject may have committed fraud (I would use the term maliciously and not because of desparation, and they would normally have evidence that would point to that.
  16. That was my understanding too. I see, however, in post #3 that you talk about an overlap of employment, hence the need to take leave. This is where it could become sticky as, effectively, you would be doing two jobs at the same time. This may lead to issues with the taxman and as an employer, I wouldn't be happy about that.
  17. I would call your workforce team, although the response may be, departmental managers discretion. As you've given them notice, you are under no obligation to change that date, unless you want to. If you are in a union, then speak to them. Simon
  18. I have the same issue and have had advise such a roll a paper tissue and jam it under the top of the mask where is meets the nose. I've found simply breathing out through the nose reduces fogging completey.
  19. Yep. Also planning to do a video walkthrough and point out where the mould was that we had to deal with as the LL was in denial about it.
  20. Yep, that's on my list of things to do. I plan to shut of the power and gas and take photo's of the meters, including the water meter. Cheap replacement carpet arrived today. I know that the carpet could be described as wear and tear, but it'll make be feel happier known that the LL can't moan about that.
  21. Just to add, I'm doing repairs to anything I've damaged. Just after we moving in (nearly 15 years ago), there was a terrible problem with mould and it ruinined the wardorbe, bed and tall unit she left behind. We have replaced these items but not with new, so we are trying to leave the property as we found it. I do have pictures of all the mould. I will also do a video walkthrough of the property when I'm done
  22. Yep, that's already done - it's very expensive now, but that will kick in next week for the next six months. We're moving into a second dwelling on my Aunt's farm so we can look after her (she has dementia) and my wife is already there, so no problem with that. Phone and broadband have already been cancelled and will terminate on the 22nd. I've spoken to the utilities and confirmed my move and will give them meter readings on my last day at the property. Can I let the council know before the event so that the CTAX can be cancelled?
