  1. The only rent they pay me is for the power poles on my land.
  2. And here's me with a Coronation Chicken sandwich!
  3. I do like the Monarchy, well most of them - spare us!!! I would like to watch the Coronation live as it is a historic event but I am busy during the morning, so I will watch it on catch up. As to the oath, I don't think that's necessary and is a personal choice.
  4. Here's their website: NHS penalty charges and enquiry letters | NHSBSA WWW.NHSBSA.NHS.UK Guidance on enquiry letters, and paying, challenging and avoiding penalty charges It has their contact details on it.
  5. Unfortunately, the NHSBSA will keep chasing you for the charges and they do do court. Your exemption must be renewed every 12 months. The problem is they don't usually tell you if you no longer qualify.
  6. They were tested every 6 months. They were electroinic devices using weight loading cells, so no moving parts. The set up comprised of two large pads - still heavy, and the display unit. The vehicles would be weighed by each axle and the display unit would then calculate the overall gross. Some police forces use a similar setup where weigh bridges are not an option.
  7. I used to work for Network Rail, and one of my duties was to weigh the vans before going out using portable weighing equipment. People forget that the weight limit is gross, so it includes the vehicle itself, the weight of the fuel, the load plus all of the passengers, so a 3.5t Transit van's total weight must not exceed 3.5t when on the road.
  8. The yellow zigzag line marks the area of the road where parking is prohibited, as it is reserved for another purpose. Therefore, we often see these markings at bus stops or loading and unloading areas. In other words, it is forbidden to park with any vehicle. White zigzags are commonly found either side of pedestrian crossings. They are designed to indicate that parking and overtaking in these zones is strictly prohibited.
  9. It was wish. Absolutely no quibble. Just went through the chat bot and the refund was issued to paypal almost immediately, then credited back to my bank account the following day.
  10. I finallly get to join the EVRi/Evri delivery failure club. I ordered a coat and got the notification that it was out for delivery with Evri. Unfortunately, it never turned up. I contacted the seller, and as it was outside the delivery dates, they refunded me straight away and said if the coat turns up I can keep it!
  11. In a previous property where I lived, I had a key meter, but because the meter was at the top of the wall and I have a disability, they had to swap it out for a normal meter.
  12. Agree with UB about the overhead damage. This is normally where the driver drives into a fixed overhead hazard. The tractor driver has a duty of care when driving a vehicle like this with the hazardout protrusions. They probably didn't even think about coming across a luton van.
  13. You have an colleague that is on sick leave. This is something between the employee and the employer. If it's found that the employee has a long term condition that will affect their return to work, then this is the employers issue. As previous mentioned, someone can be dismissed for capability if they are no longer to do their job, but this is something that has to go through due process and is usually mutual. If you are finding it difficult to do your job, due to the lack of a resource, then this is something your employer has to deal with. Yes, they can hire a temp in to cover the absence, but it not down to other employees who are not in the affected employees management structure to get involved with. Sure, you can raise the issue of not enough staff to do a task due to this absence, but that's about it.
  14. I would certainly suggest providing the information as this will really help sort your case out.
  15. It could be something as simple as a mis-keyed NI number. In my job, I see it all the time.
  16. I had a call from a number in germany. I guessed it may be a scam so I answered, and yep - Amazon Prime scam. Thought I'd have a bit of fun. Did CSE german in the late 70's so in very bad german, spoke to the scammer, who kept saying speak english. I managed to get in vorsprung durch technic, ich bin ein berliner and auf weidersein pet before they hung up.
  17. Just to add my twopennarth, aren't there speed cameras on the gantry behind the variable speed sign? These signs are always illuminated when active and should be visible from quite a distance.
  18. You couln'd see my facepalm as I read this thread. It's like asking a question and not liking the answer and asking the question again hoping for a different answer.
  19. What did the police say when you reported it stolen? The DVLA would have put a marker on the system saying seized no tax?
  20. Once your initial contract is up and you are staying in the property, paying rent, you have to give one months notice (landlord still has to give two). Happy to be corrected. I rented for 10 years, but only signed a contract for one year. Still had to legally give a months notice.
  21. So they issue you a P45 which you then have to hand back to them in order for them to do your P60 next month - I get it!!
  22. I think you should be worried. P45's are normally only issued after termination of employment.
